NavDX positive test

I feel for you and am sorry you're going through this. Do you mind me asking how long your NavDX scores were zero? I hope they have an immunotherapy solution for you, I would suggest you look into all of the Keytruda clinical trials and see if. You qualify for any. I suffered very minor side effects from my immunotherapy treatments and they were very effective.

Not sure where you are located, but I have heard positive results from proton beam therapy for solitary lung mets. I am in Ohio and The James at Ohio State, opened their Proton Beam in January 2024. Since they are the newest in the country, it is supposed to be the most advanced in the world. If you are anywhere near a site with a Proton Beam, I would check it out. I may only take 4-6 treaments, that last only seconds.
I found this info:
Now Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) radiation oncologist Jonathan Yang reports that proton therapy, an advanced form of radiation therapy, is effective in controlling LM. Proton therapy uses charged particles called protons rather than the standard X-ray approach that are used in conventional radiation therapy.

My husband's had the same situation, but they found his liver tumor on PET when his level was 76. It never would have shown up on CT of the chest or head/neck. I would ask for a PET scan

Same thing happened to me I just finished six months of chemo and I'm doing immunotherapy and alx148 trial what is your pdl score mine was 0 on two test and 10 on 1 under 19 is not good alx148 targets a different receptor on the cancer so far I have a 30 percent reduction on first pet and a small amount on the second

My Navdx score was 0 for two tests, but the recent one was 69. PET results show 2 areas .
I have an appointment today with a Head and neck cancer surgeon. Cancer also returned to the tongue.

Hello, psaund9860, I am very glad for you that your care team was using the NavDx test and is on top of things.
I am praying that these three areas can easily be excised of the cancer with clear margins.
I believe you are Blessed that these were found and of course, the smaller the cancer is when we go after it the better.
I had a small spot on my tongue excised in 2018 with clear margins and it went well and healed quickly.
Wishing You The Very Best

I just got the results from the CT guided Lung Biopsy. This was done because my NavDX started going positive in Feb and after three PET scans and 7 months it showed a 1.1cm tumor in my lung…….The biopsy showed this: Invasive, moderate to poorly differentiated focally keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma. My question is ???? Should it have shown that it was SCC HPV 16+ that metastasis from my H&N cancer.

I have been reading that there is an association between this type of lung cancer with primary HPV positive Head and Neck cancer. I would be interested if they have done the HPV staining on the sample from your lung. In any case, your tumor is small, and I assume that they are going to recommend some form of treatment. I wish you the very best outcome. I am sure that the rising Navdx levels caused them to keep looking and was responsible for early detection of this tumor. I have read a couple of posts where people with similar lung tumors were able to have ablation therapy and destroy the tumor with only 4 or 5 sessions of radiation/proton therapy????, while others were treated with Keytruda. Both had successful outcomes.

Agreed with Loghomeliver, he covered my thoughts on it pretty much.
So they say it is a tumor and 1.1 cm which comes out to 0.4330709 in inches which if I am correct would be slightly less than 1/2 inch for us old folks out here.
My sister had one on her lung, I guess they called it a nodule, I can't recall the size, and they monitored it till it started growing and then zapped it with the CyberKnife.
Best of luck Bill I hope they can zap it out of there with a minimum number of treatments and you can be cancer-free once again.
Wishing You The Very Best

An update change in my treatment plan. I have Mets to my lung that is from H&N SCC HPV +16 Tonsil and 4 lymph Nodes in my neck. The Mets to my Lung is 1.1cm tumor. My Oncologist wanted me to have surgery. I'll be having that surgery in Seattle at Virginia Masson with the surgeon being Dr Hubka. I also got a bit more info on my Biopsy. The PDL-1 came back Negative and the P16 came back positive. The p16 tells us that it is Mets from the H&N cancer. The PDL-1 Negative tells me that I may not me a good candidate for immunotherapy. I'm seeing my Oncologist on Monday and my Surgery is a week later……We Shall see…….I hope everyone is going great…….Bill

Well, Bill, so sorry you have mets to your lung from the prior cancer.
But it looks like you have a great facility and a highly-rated doctor who will be operating on you.
Here's to praying he can get the tumor out in one net little node and you are free of this evil disease once again.
Take Care, God Bless
Russ
