    Going Forward

    Dear lkitty,

Scans are definitely anxiety producing. After your surgery you will probably be "cured" and need no further treatment. Usually, whatever tissue is removed is biopsied, again, to make sure that nothing was missed. You may get scanned over the next couple of years and each time it will be nerve wracking.

I had traditional surgery for a far more advanced case and next week marks 11 years. I can assure you that slow growing cancers are the easiest to treat and they have the best cure rate.

My liver had an extra lobe! I asked how common that was and they said it happens. No one knows why. Livers regenerate and fatty livers can be "cured" with a change in diet and exercise. Focus on your liver and healing it and you will see that your life improves. Fatty livers are common in the U.S.

Keep reaching out. We are here for you!
