Endometrial Cancer - Sonogram Results

Hi, I am new on here and hoping to find out more about Endometrial Cancer, testing, testing results, questions I should ask doctor, etc, etc. I have spent hours and days researching online and all I can do is cry, Im scared of dying and scared about the pain the treatments will bring. I spotted a few times before COVID, I asked a friend from my motorcycle club about the spotting and occasional menstrual cramping and she told me it was nothing, probably fibroids. My gp has done my PAP for years and they were always negative for cervical cancer. I told both gp's that treated me about my spotting and cramps and I was told it was nothing to be concerned about, they didn't feel anything unusual During my test. Well after skipping my PAP due to COVID I decided to get it done by a gynecologist this time rather than my new ARNP. My Gynecologist told me she didn't like how thick my lining felt and she ordered a vaginal sonogram. I found out yesterday that my lining is 13mm which they said is very thick so I have to have a biopsy. I don't know if I'm overreacting and 13mm isn't really that bad or should I be prepared that I definitely have cancer and probably at least stage 2. I feel like my life is over. Is 13mm really Bad?

I would suggest posting on the Uterine Cancer Board

    Hi Spydergal,

I'm sorry to hear about all the stress you've been going through recently.  I would suggest that since endometrial cancer is a type of uterine cancer, your best bet for getting answers to your questions would be to repost your above post on the Uterine Cancer Board.  This Board is limited to gynecologic cancers other than uterine (endometrial) and ovarian, both of which have their own separate Discussion Boards.

I'm sure that you will get a number of responses from many of the wonderful women who have been diagnosed with endometrial cancer on the Uterine Cancer board.

Best of luck and health to you!

    Second the Recommendation

I second MoeKay's suggestion that you post your questions on the Uterine Board where there are many women who will be happy to help. One topic on that Board that you may find helpful right now is at https://csn.cancer.org/node/322953

Hope to see you on the Uterine Board.

Here's the link to the Uterine Board that I should have shared earlier: https://csn.cancer.org/forum/189

I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, in October 2021 went through total hysterectomy and been in chemo for the last 3 months soon to start radiation. What happened to you?

After our suggestions that Spydergal post on the Uterine Board, she switched from here and posted only on that site. She had some bumps along the way, but was ultimately found to NOT have cancer, so she isn't posting anymore.

The Uterine Board is quite active, so if you haven't visited there yet, I encourage you to do so and ask any questions that you have. There's a very recent discussion there on radiation you might find helpful. See https://csn.cancer.org/discussion/324643/any-tips-for-external-pelvic-radiation#latest
