    3rd anniversary of prostatectomy

    Hi everybody;

The third anniversary of my prostatectomy has ticked by in mid February, and I am close to a year and a half off the ADT.
    So what gives?
My testosterone level is now up to 3.00 ng/mL, 10.41 nmol/l and my PSA is still below < 0.05 ng/ml
Next test at the end of September and an interview with Dr Tigger on my birthday in October, this will be after the fourth anniversary of diagnosis.
In the meantime we have to move house, I have a faster car pencilled in, but I have to sneak that one past the wife!
The best thing is that I am still keeping looking at the daisies from the wrong side at bay.

    Best wishes,

    Georges

    Thanks for the update, George

Is Calvados an option in the area where George lives?

    Hi there,

We have this stuff which is like Calvados but better, everything is better in Brittany than it is in Normandy, moules, herbe, cidre, femmes, chattes, beurre, you get the idea.

    Blood pressure

    Georges

My BP goes down when I am on Firmagon and back up when I am on my "holiday". I also get insomnia and sweating, low energy and fatigue. Now I have hip joint pain which may be related to SR or ADT. Of course old age (66) is being added to the equation so .... Each cycle is different for some reason. Almost no insomnia this time, last time that was the worst part.

    George

    3rd anniversary

    Hi Georges,

Congratulation on the remission. The results are supper. Hope this reinforces your cured status.

For me the best in Brittany is its traditional fish diet with produces from its long costal ocean areas. I like its history involving the Celts (IX century) from wohm I may descend. Think of Asterics and you have it all. Lol

    Would like to try some...

    Close, but no cigar:

in Belgium there are beers in the Lambiek family (fermented with a variety of fruits).

    Hi there,

We like our beer down here, so we have the beer that we make ourselves plus English and Belgian beer as well.

    Congrats

    Congrats George,

Great report, hope and pray for many more undetectable readings.  I think we all just live from PSA test to test to a certain extent.  We should all enjoy life when we can and fight the beast if and when it returns. In the mean time get on with getting on.

As you can see I had two results fairly close together that may show a rising trend and then no tests for the four months up to the operation, in that time it could have been fairly stable or risen to more than a couple of hundred, we really do not know.
Five weeks after the operation it had collapsed to 2,07, indicating that the bulk of the tumour producing PSA was gone, I think that it might have declined further as I have seen other cases on Yananow where it continued to decline. No matter as I was strongly advised to take Firmagon, I had another test on the 12 of April that showed a further decline and I suspect that I was at the limit of detection for the end of the month, certainly before the start of the radiation.
Conclusions, most of the tumour was gone, the remaining fraction was highly susceptible to testosterone deprivation.

    Yay, drinkies

    Hi there,

So I mosied down to the lab and logged in another < 0.05 ng/mL.
I am now four years after diagnosis and two years after stopping Dr Tigger's special monkey glands.
Maybe I will die of something else!
Now to buy a chicken run and a 200+ hp car!

    Best wishes,

    Georges

    Looking good

    Again!

Be careful with that 200 HP car; better stick with a Citroen 2CV?

Good news, Georges - we can
Good news, Georges - we can never have too much of that.
I'll raise a toast with my herbal tea. I started on Gabapentin, so I'm avoiding anything stronger for the time being.
It's a trip to the lab for me in the next couple of weeks. We'll see how the Xtandi is doing.
    Take care,
    Bill

    Cooking with gas!

    Hi there,

    Testosterone up to 3.70 ng/mL, 12.84 nmol/L.
I already have a 140 hp car, going to 200+ is not that much faster as there is a law of diminishing returns.
Air acts more and more like a fluid as you get faster, plus there is increased rolling resistance, etc, so it is not quite 50% faster.

    Best wishes,

    Georges

    Great results

    Congratulations for the continuing remission.

Great story and great results. How about celebrating the occasion in a drive on the Virgin Galactic if you like speed.
