There are several types of kidney cancer:

  • Renal cell carcinoma
  • Urothelial carcinoma (also called transitional cell carcinoma)  <---- what my husband had
  • Sarcoma
  • Wilms tumor
  • Lymphoma

Types of kidney cancer cells:

  • Clear cell
  • Papillary <---- what my husband had
  • Sarcomatoid features
  • Angiomyolipoma
  • Medullary/collecting duct
  • Chromophobe
  • Oncocytoma

Anyone else out there with transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) also called urothelial carcinoma (UCC) in the kidney?

It's the 2nd most common type of kidney cancer.  This type of cancer can happen in the bladder, ureter, urethra or kidney. It's the most common type of bladder cancer.
