Seven Years!

Hi,
Just received the results from the latest PET/CT scan and it's an all clear. This puts me at 7 1/2 years post treatment for BOT stage 4, treatment was 35 rads with 3 cisplatin doses in 2010.
Hoping this will give encouragement to those just starting down this pathway. Yes, treatment is rough, for sure. But it is definitely well worth it! Cheers!

7.5 years is great.
Jimbo,
Congratulations on 7.5 years, The last time I responded to you was April 2, 2014 and it must have been 4 years. It doesn’t look like very many old timers from your class are still looking at the H&N posts or I know they would respond. I am still updating the ROLL CALL and I am always trying to get members to update.
I hope you let us know at 10 years. Wow, how time flys.

NED for left tonsil cancer. Had it scoped yesterday, and all looked great. BUT......I have been fighting Melanoma on the right side of my head. Just finished immunotherapy protocol of combinination Optivo and Yervoy. Supose to have 4 infusions, but I only made it to 3. Became very weak and frail to the point of passing out......12/15 bouts of Diarriah a day for 5 weeks......Lost 31 pounds that I needed. PET scan showed tumor reduced by 40%, so we will continue with just Optivo (and it's few side effects). Infusion every two weeks, then CT scan after 3rd.

Post radiation timeline
This might be addresses somewhere else but I could find it. I know everyone recovers differently but I am curious how long after you were done your radiation did your throat feel better? I am now into week 5 post treatment and my throat feels worse than it ever has? I am on an NG Tube but I'm eager to start swallowing real food and getting rid of it.
