Just wondering what treatments worked for those of you who ended up with Radiation Proctitis after cancer treatment.  Aside from HBO, what treatments have cleared it or at least lessened the bleeding?

    I think colo/rectal surgeons are still using formalin treatments. Lots of internet info.

    If you have pain after the bleeding stops, Prilosec/Omeprazol reduces acid in the digestive tract. In the injured and sensitive anal region, reducing acid has a very soothing effect. I have had to add immodium to the treatment to slow diarhea, which is a side effect of Omeprazol.

    I had radiation treatment in October of 2020 due to endometrial cancer. I was diagnosed with Radiation Proctitis in December 2022. I was told to try a sucralfate enema to treat the inflammation of the rectum. Does anyone have any information about administering the sucralfate enema?
