gist and gleevec

My mom is on Gleevec for about 1 month and half because of GIST. But liver enzymes are increasingly elevated.
Oncologists said to stop it till they back to normal range.
Even changing the medication might not be a solution and they can have same side effect and on liver enzymes.
Any one experienced same problem or any idea or solution?
