Looking for some emotional support
Hi I am new to this board, I figured this would be a good place to go to. I recently found out that I have to go for a hysteroscopy and a uterine biopsy.
I am so scared and haven't had this done before. I feel like I have No one to talk to.
I feel sad and irritable, Not sure if this is normal or not? I have an appt for a consultant with a surgeon on April 2nd and then
They will schedule it. I am only 35, and is what I think I am very healthy. Any advice would be great. Thanks so much!!

HI-I am new to this also-Your not alone and there are people on here to talk to. I know the feeling though I still feel like that sometime. I was diagoinsed in Oct 2014. I was going to have surgury but the uterian cancer had already spread-it went pretty fast. I was always very healthy and never even had the flu so this is a real blow to me also. I started radiation right away and went through that for 3 months-it got rid of the uterian cancer cell and the cell the spread to the limp nods. But it was also in my right hip,and now spread to my lung and liver-but they are small so now after 1 complete round of chemo theres hope-I pray alot and have friends that have a prayer chain for me going. Prayer has helped me out alot and without it I would not have the attitude I have now. Keep very positive and need any type of answers or anything theres always people to listen and help-I will be your friend. I need one too.

Those early days are the toughest.
Hopefully (and probably) everything will be ok. And even if the news isn't the best, you will still be fine. You found a lot of supporters in this group and most of us feel that the early parts - the hurry up and wait - was so stressful. I am sure that is what you are feeling. Just take things one day at a time, keep busy, do things you love and don't focus on the what ifs. Too many unknowns to take on at this early point.
Keeping you in my prayers Anne

I ditto what AWK said. It's hard not knowing but the time will pass. We will wait with you. Ask any questions as they come to you and we'll do our best to answer.

Hi Summerlady!!!!
I know how worried you must be and the shock you are in right now. Soon all this will pass, reason be initial health problems is new to us and something we never expect to happen to us. Why are you haveing these procedures, did you have symptoms?
I had all these tests and they are just regular internal exams nothing to worry about. Oh, boy, I do know the state of mind these observations throw you in, but in time you will be able to accept and move on. We have no choice to do our best to deal with these hurdles in life. WE do feel overwhelmed when we are suddenly confronted with life-altering circimstances such as a sudden diagnosis. try to let what you have right now sustain you until you know exactly what the situation is.
We still do not know what your outcome might be, could well turn out to be nothing. I hope I have been some form of encouragement to you. Do your best to stay positive and wait until you get your results. It's amazing how humans endure a multitude of problems and manage to overcome all these fears. Be well my darlng and keep us informed.

Just wanted to say Thank You So Much for the reply, The waiting is killing me, I feel like I am in No rush to have it done, but I also
Want to get it over with. I am trying to stay positive and not let it get to me. I am keeping really busy, and talk to people who had this
Done and get as much advice and knowledge as I can. The problem started when my periods started to become so irregular, and were coming
More frequently. I also noticed that I am having more pain than I was. I have stage 2
Endometrios. Have always had painful periods. The pain subsided for a while, and everything went
Haywire! I am pretty sure I am okay, but probably won't relax until I have the doctor tell me I am fine.
Your support and prayers are So greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply and ssupport! I have stage 2 endometrois, and have had heavy bleeding and very painful cramps,
For a few years, was on birth control but the side effects was killing me. I did end up having surgery and was on herbal
Supplements that work great. Everything was fine for a while, but a few months ago, my period got a little crazy, and
It was coming more frequently and heavier. My gynecologist saw something in my uterus and said I need to have a biopsy. I also have
Cancer in my family, which doesn't help. Your right about being in shock, I went for what I thought was a routine exam and I found
This out! My doctor did reassure me that my pap smear came back negative, and that was a very good sign. So staying hopeful and optimistic.
I appreciate your words of encouragement and support so much!! Thanks again

Any woman facing a possible diagnosis of uterine or ovarian cancer should insist on a CA-125 blood test . It is not always definitive but it is another tool in the doctor's tool box. it's a good idea to take advantage of it.
Best of luck,
Cathy

Is that why you will have a hysterectomy? Fortunately, endometriosis is usual not cancer. I am hoping for the best outcome for you when you have your biopsy.

No I am not having a hysteromey. I am having an uterine biopsy, because of heavy bleeding and irregular periods.
I do have stage 2 endometrois. I was diagnosed with it 12 years ago. I have it scheduled for may 2nd. Thanks for the support.

Your Upcoming Biopsy and Hysteroscopy
Hi Summerlady,
I'm gathering from your description of events that a gynecological oncologist will be doing your biopsy and hysteroscopy. If so, that's great - and how it should be.
My Ob/Gyn did mine, and she did the hysteroscopy BEFORE she did the biopsy. She was certain I just had fibroids. I had a cancerous tumor. And, her messing around in there (to "zap the fibroids" her terminology) spread the cancer cells into my pelvis. My cancer surgeon told me that the cells in my pelvic fluid were the only reason I needed to do chemo, as all of my lymph nodes were clear (all 84 she took out - ouch!).
Just writing this so that you are aware of that issue.
Hoping your problem is minimal and can be taken care of easily.
