We have made the decision to call in hospice
After talking with my oncologist and finding out that my mets on my liver and spine are still growing I talked with my kids and we made the decison to stop treatments and call in hospice. The chemo was doimg more harm than good. Due to the mets on my spine I am unable to walk without a walker and I have been told that it is going to get sorse. My bedroom has been moved to the living room due to the fact that I cant walk up the 12 steps. Although I do not go out much I am able to make it down the 3 steps on the porch with help. This was one of the toughest decisions that I have ever made in my life.
Hugs,
Mommaellen

I am sorry that it is time to make that decision.
It has been one topic that I, with my onc have been kicking around with onco's just not quite there yet, however, made a very hard decision. I chose the Hospice group I want to use. That in itself was not easy. There.are so many here.
ELLEN, I wish you the best, painfree time of your life. Just being off chrmo will be an improvement in how you feel.
Sending Big Hugs and prayers.

Peace
Hi MommaEllen,
I had called hospice for my husband over 8 years ago. He wanted to stay at home, which he did. Hospice came whenever they were needed. They showed me how to care for him. It was a labor of love. The end came peacefully early one morning. I talked to him the whole time. Hospice will give you the peace and painfree time you need to spend with your family and be comfortable in your home. You will not suffer. God loves you. We all do.
Peace dear sister,
Sharon

Prayers heading your way
Mommaellen, I am so sorry your treatments are not working. Hospice is surely a nice decision to go when pain gets bad.
They are truly wonderful having them around for you. May you have peace and comfort these days ahead of you enjoying your children and family while you are not on chemo. Alot of pink sisters will see this post and will be praying for you. God works in mysterious ways, such ways as can you get a second or third opinion and kiss this beast in its **** and show who has won. (HUGS AND PRAYERS) Pixie
