Your boy has a lovely smile AA, and the farm on the photo below looks surreal. I thought such bright red houses can only be found in Norway. Where exactly in the US was this photo taken?
The photo of the barn was taken in the Snohomish River valley, in Western Washington. It's less than an hour away from Seattle, where we live. I didn't take that photo, of course, and I think the colors are super-saturated. So while it is indeed a red barn, it's not quite that vivid in reality!! Hence, the "surreal" feel to the shot.

Yes it was very emotional.
I was diagnosed on Oct 5th of last year and the race fell on my 1 year anniversary. So yes, we celebrated with lots of happy tears.
