Mouth tongue cancer
Hello everyone, I just googled this today. About three months ago I had to take some Prednisone that messed up my stomach. I ended up in the ER. Since then my stomach has been off. In relation to Aimee's post I too have had teh sore tongue mouth burning since. I did notice that when I took Prilosec it helped. I have also been freaking out about cancer of teh tongue and mouth after reading teh cancer stories and how some people had teh same symptoms and it was cancer. I smoke. I do not drink. I too fell victim to thinkng this is what I had. I had my doctor , dentist, and referred myself to an ENT this week whom I just saw. I made him check everything. He did not do any kind of biopsies ,but told me you do not have cancer. He told me to come back in a month . I even made him do the scope thingy in my nose. He said everything looked fine , no ulcers in throat even. I explained how stressed I was and was like are you sure? He said I do this everyday and actually just diagnosed three people with cancer this week. I was still questioning it as I left. Then I realized anxiety actually brings on symptoms with no explanation . If you have a sore or bump please go get it checked out . But reading stuff on the pc make things worse. EVERYTHING is cancer on here.YOu could have cancer and NOT have symptoms of any kind. I would suggest everyone get a good dentist or ENT to get check-ups every 6 months to keep your fears at bay. If something does appear then they will know since they have been seeing you off an on. I am still concerned but i had to stop as it is starting to take over my life. I hope Aimee ended up ok on here. Worrying can cause stomach upset which can lead to mouth ulcers and acid production overload. Find a doctor that can re-assure you . Things are what they are . Enjoy life while you have it people . Stop letting worry steal your life.

Thanks for your concern but you must not have seen the title at the top of this page. We all have seen doctors and all have oncoligy doctors as well as ENT. We all have cancer. This is the Head and neck survivor network.
Have a great day.

The reason "everything is cancer on here" is because we have cancer.
In relation to the original poster, Aimee92 -
In the UK, we have no need whatsoever to seek out online diagnosis like that. We can simply visit our GP for FREE, and if the doctor feels there is ANY risk of cancer, an urgent referral is made and the person will be seeing the relevant Consultant within a couple of weeks. Any NEEDED tests, such as biopsies are done. FREE.
She may have already been to her GP and NOT been referred because the GP knew there was no NEED to refer. She may have already been through the whole process and been told she doesn't have cancer.
GPs are not fools, not amateurs. In England, GP training including medical school, is TEN YEARS. If a GP had even the most remote suspicion of cancer, of COURSE they would refer! Why wouldn't they?! these referrals are faxed the same day, and often the biopsy has been done within a fortnight! Mine was 7 days!
Just try to bear in mind, that in the UK, getting checked for cancer is quick, easy and free. So you have to ask, why haven't they gone through that process?
This is a cancer forum for people who have cancer.
