Current plans with radiation
Met with my Dr. today to finalize my plans for radiation to my rib and T6 spine.... I have had fantastic results from MDX-1106. It has devoured more tumors than anyone should ever get. Only a couple left in my soft tissue but we'll kick their **** also. Even had bone mets get destroyed. But somehow a couple of newer invaders have taken up space in my left lower rib and T6 spine. My oncologist said "It's time to get rid of them too."
So I have had more scans. I've been tattooed for reference points. The first radiation will be on the rib. 5 sessions. Once a day. Weekends not included. Then the spine for 3 sessions, every other day. It should start thursday.
It will be a busy 2-3 weeks but what the hell. I had no plans except survival anyway.
I had hoped to ride my motorcycle today to my appt. But was unable to lift my leg to use the brake. (due to pain). I decided riding wouldn't be a good idea, so I drove. Here's hoping that I don't have to do that again.
Infusion tomorrow. Maybe zometa too. My bod will be in an **** kicking mood. Thank your lucky stars that you aren't my cancer! I'll post updates as I go along.
FLY!
Fox.

You are on my mind. I am still waiting to hear from SCRI about the anti-PD1 trial that I am supposed to get in. They should call me sometime this week to set up a time for me to go to Nashville. I can only hope and pray that my results are as good as yours. It's a shame the Inlyta did not work for me, but I believe everything happens for a reason and this will allow me to participate in the clinical trial.
I hope and pray the radiation zaps the crap out of your mets! Keep us informed. I'm cheering you on. You are my role model.

Kicking it...
Foxy,
Now that's a couple tattoos worth getting, wear them with pride as a reminder of when you kicked cancer's ****!! As reported by others here, radiation has proven effective on bone mets, multiply that by the power of MDX and I see NED in your future. Fall is a great time to ride and you should be back in the saddle in plenty of time for a color tour.
Hang tuff,

SENDING LUCK
I am keeping you in my prayers as you have been such an inspiration to everyone on this site. I am amazed every time I read your posts. It is apparent to all of us that CANCER PICKED THE WRONG PERSON when it picked you. Keep us posted on your progress. We have all grown quite attached to you Fox.0 -

Hi Fox. This is just another bump in the road. I know you'll kick butt. I'm thinking of you and sending good, healing thoughts your way....
Jennifer
Looks like you've got the gang cheering for you. Eyeryone concentrate your good wish messages to Fox.
But at least you could take your car to the Doc...think what would happen if a dog couldn't lift his leg.

Fox....best of luck and thank you for the perspective. relatively new here and have enjoyed
your outlook and perspective. It's refreshing and serves to remind some of us newer folks that the future begins today.
Kick some **** tomorrow. CC
CC, Thanks. Yeah, you may be newer but that does not carry less weight around here. I feel like a quarterback. Now you know the game plan. Any questions? No? Good. Now GO GET THEM!!!0 -

Fox,
Clearly cancer doesn't know who he's dealing with. I have no doubt you can do this. Be sure to keep us posted.
Kathy
Thanx Kathy. Of course we kick ****. I know a guy who would just lie down and wait to die. It would be too much effort to fight. That doesn't happen around here. We do this together. Fox.0 -

Thanx Paula. I agree that maybe the Inlyta didn't work for the long term because if it did, you would have missed out on something that works better and is more tolerable. I wish I could find something closer to home for you. In the meantime, We're gonna ZAP the CRAP out of me. Thanks. Love you Paula. Now you do well. Fox.0 -

Limelife, I have to admit that I have had an easy go of this. It's one of these things where I feel guilty for just not having too tough a time of all this. I may change my mind after radiation. But I doubt it. Thanx. Fox.0 -

Oh, I'll be riding shortly. We have a ride planned to the Berkshires where we get a rueben that is so big it is served on an open plate. Plus it is at a brewhouse. Just down the street from Alice's restaurant. ( not too many members here will be familiar with Arlo's thanksgiving anti war protest song.) Besides, I don't want a pickle, .just want to ride my motorsickle." Thanx Gary. Fox.
You know, if I ever get a tattoo, maybe it will be "x's" at my radiation sites. Good idea.0 -

Fox,
Good luck and continue to kick butt. Then you can gt back on the bike.
Ed
Ed, I'll ride within a week. Maybe 2 at the most. What do you think about permanent tatts on the radiation marks? Like 6-8 black X's. That would get people wondering. Thanx.0
