I'm the first one this time!
Love this thread, Pepe. Thank you for it. I'm recovering from lung surgery and feeling really good. Don't know what's to come next but, I'm going to enjoy the weekend with my husband. First up, a nice bowl of ice cream.
I hope you get some well-deserved rest.0 -

Nothing Much Here
Going to do some volunteer work tomorrow. Saturday I'm getting suckered into listening to 1 1/2 hours of a time share. They've promised me a 8 day/7 night cruise voucher plus 2 air fare tickets. Hoping my bowels cooperate with this thing. Sunday going to church and then maybe a movie after. Hoping you enjoy the beach and are feeling better soon.
Hugs! Kim0 -
OMG please don't talk about
OMG please don't talk about icce cream! I am tired stressed and dehydrated. I need to stay in the house and read a book (or should I go out for drinks with someone?) I am just tired and stressed. We haven't heard the results from my father's endoscopy. I don't know what I will do this weekend. Hubby wants to go out on a road trip, but I want to ditch him for the girls (oops did I say that?)
Pepe feel better. We luv you!0 -
Love Thursdays!
So far grandbabies, ice cream and the beach! Fun and happy times! I am going to cut out a pattern for a gown and kimono for my soon to be great niece. Going to sew it by hand and see how it turns out! Hoping to be doing this while it is raining! 50% chance! Hope everyone has a great weekend and those of us that need it get rain! It keeps this up and we may end up with beaches in Arkansas without the cool water to go with it!
Thank you all for sharing!0 -

But I've been thinking...what really might be a good strategy and give you a "For Sure Out"...
Is go ahead and let those bowels slip during the hard-core sales pitch...a little messy, sure...but you get your trip...and only 1/2 the pitch...they'll be only too glad to hold the door open for you, LOL!
It's a win-win!
Good luck!

No chemo this week....eating a lot of food because I can taste it!
Had my bike tuned up and ordered a bike rack so I can hit the trails around my area. I have always wanted to do this and its good scenery, exercise, and keeps my spirits from wandering.
Also picked up books to read.
Where did August go?
Have a great weekend everyone!

We are going to the Rodeo!
We are going to the Rodeo! It is our first Rodeo with my wife. Our little town has the oldest Rodeo in the USA. Tonight was the amateur Women. IT Poured rain about half way through, and the event still ran. A lot of fun!
Best Always, mike
PS Resting on the Beach sounds pretty good too!0 -

Sort of considering having a yard sale to clean out more stuff to make room for even more stuff which we'll bring down from the cabin next week. We've got a cold front coming through. It's only supposed to be 98 on Saturday. LOL We had a couple of 115 days this past week. Those are rough, but you learn to stay inside. We actually have tourists that try to hike our nearby mountains in that heat. NO WATER and NO BRAINS. Then the poor rescue squads have to go and get them.
Have a great time at the beach and everyone have a nice weekend.
Luv,

Surprise free weekend
Thought I was going to be having chemo Thurs-Sat. Flunked the blood test (low platelet count) so it's been postponed till Monday. So suddenly I have a free weekend! Whee! Haven't quite decided what to do -- movies? foot reflexology? mani-pedi? But I'm gonna enjoy it!

Pepe
Pepe,
i think you,****, Pete and I are the beach bums. Tomorrow we are going up to the North Share to look for shells with our daughter. She leaves for college next week and we are looking forward to a wonderful day with her.
On a side note, when **** was diagnosed she was a freshman in high school and none of us thought **** would make it to her graduation. Well, he did and tomorrow he will be diving with her on the North Shore.
Enjoy your weekend everyone!
Aloha,

Cabin Fever
Dear Pepe, thank you for inspiring each of us to enjoy the world around us!
I have been cooped up in the house for a couple of weeks except for doc appointments for my ankle.
Going to try to get out on Sat. to the local Greek festival. It is a small one so if I can park close by I am going to give it a try. Even if I miss it my neighbor who gives her time there has promised to bring me a Gyro. Last year I was able to help her and the other ladies make some of the Greek cookies for the event. Today she brought me a "get well" gift of Baklava that they will be selling. It is yummy!
Rest up Pepe and enjoy the beach.
Hugs,

Very little
After a couple of weeks of going abroad, driving rond the country seeing people and going up to London for the Olympics we have the luxury of an 'empty weekend' ahead- no appointments, no kids to play, nothing in the diary.
Kids allowing it will be lying in, pottering around and mucking about followed up by chilling out and wittling away the day.
It is one of life's biggest luxuries to do nothing sometimes.

Up to the Cottage:
Since George is feeling pretty good we are going up to the cottage Friday morning and staying until late Monday. We were going to leave on Thursday but they were predicting storms which never materalized. Weather should be nice but a little cool. Sunny and mid-70's still sounds good. Now that George has officially retired we have a nice flexible schedule. Sometimes he asks if it is Monday or Tuesday and I just laugh and tell him who cares anymore. The last few weeks were pretty tough for George, he was in the hospital in July for a few days and last week he had to have a blood transfusion but he has perked up quite a bit so off we go. Chemo continues to work and keep things stable and slightly decreasing but the side effects cause him problems.
