Interesting article about bowel cancer and high iron levels caused by eating red meat:

great article, thanks
"It's clear that iron is playing a critical role in controlling the development of bowel cancer in people with a faulty APC gene."
i wonder if i have the faulty gene, anyway not had red meat for so long.
when i get to 10 years clear, i will have a steak, until then these nuts and legumes will have to do.
the other side issue that i have been following is reducing iron in take to slow the process of angiogenisis. its one thing my alt doc is very fussy about, so i avoid iron in supplements, but i do get some in my nuts ans foods.
by avoiding red meat i at least minimise dietary exposure.
i think this will have implications for late stage bowel cancers as well.
hugs,
Pete
