This is from Kathy:
Pray for ray, today is not a good day, we learned that his tumor has completely blocked his esophagus...he can't even swallow his own salava they are going to do test tomorrow, to best give him palliative care ...they say that is all that can be done for him....

I went to see my brother today and he told me that he asked the doctor that gave him the scope how long does he have. The doctor didn't want to say (believe it?)but Jr persisted and told the doctor he's sure he has seen this before so HOW LONG!
The doctor told him about a month.

They could not even go in with the scope. The tumor has completely blocked the esophagus, it has grown larger from just a few weeks ago.
They will put a feeding tube in him tomorrow and send him home with hospice care.

How is Jr taking this?
Well he hasn't been fully able to process any of this as so many came to see him today. I stayed only for a few minutes knowing his mind is full right now. Many thoughts.

My mom is not doing good, although in her heart she has known for the past weeks that Jr has not much longer to be here but when you actually hear the words it hits hard.

Kathy still cannot accept it, she is holding for a miracle.

much prayers are needed.

thank you all for your support and prayers that you have shown.

A special thank you to Eric(chemosmoker), who always made me feel like a part of this group and not an outsider.
And to Michael Daniels (hopper52), who was so very kind.
Two very special men.

Of course to Loretta and William, there are just no words to say how blessed I am to have these two in my life.

To all of you that have lifted Jr and me and my family up in prayer.

Many of you have touched my heart deeply, right now my mind is clouded and I just can't think of names.

No matter how prepared you think you are you are just never prepared enough to let go of a loved one.

God is our strength and I know He will continue to see us through this journey.

sad day.

    So very sorry
I am so very sorry to hear your news.
I will pray for JR and for you and all your family.
My Mum passed away two weeks ago, but I got the opportunity to tell her all the things I wanted to and hold her hand for five days and nights before she left to be with my Dad. That helps a lot.
When a loved one is taken suddenly, it just leaves recriminations and the feeling that you wanted to do more.
If this diagnosis is correct, I hope that you can make the most of the time you have to make sure that JR knows just how much he is loved and smile a little through it.
My heartfelt sympathies and my prayers are with you all.
    God Bless
    Marci

    In our prayers
I'm so sorry Kathy, and we have added your family to our prayers. Music helped my husband through this hard passage, and if the nurses don't give you want you think he needs, call the doctor or social worker and have another one come to help him.

Pray that Ray will have minimum pain, that he will enjoy his days with his love ones, family and friends. O Lord Jesus! Be with Ray and his family.
