Had another surgery yesterday
I had a follow up surgery yesterday so that my surgeon could drain all the fluid from my wound and remove all of the dead tissue. Unfortunately when she went in there, she found that the cancer has already started to grow back in small nodules.
This means that I have to start treatments immediately. We were originally going to start them during the second week of August. I am doing more high-dose radiation which means that just like with my chest wall, my skin will sloff off and I will have a 2nd degree burn that will take about 6 months to heal.
In other news, I broke up with my boyfriend. He is such an incredible guy, but I felt smothered and sometimes a girl just needs some time to herself. I also got accepted into the New York Film Academy's one year screen writing program. I am doing the program online, so I will be able to still travel and have any surgeries/treatments while I take the class. I am hoping to put my experience into a screen play and if all goes well pitch/sell it to some movie producers. It has always been a dream of mine and I know I can make it happen if I really try. Wish me luck girls!
Thanks for all of your continued support and prayers. You all will never know how much it means to me!

I'm sorry to hear that the cancer is coming back but thrilled to hear that you just keep plugging away and living your life to the fullest. Fantastic news about the Film Academy! I know that you will do great and that your screenplay will get picked up. Nevertheless, as the Italians say, "In Bocca Lupo"!
You are a beautiful person and I am sure that another terrific guy will come your way soon if you are interested. Otherwise, you keep living it up and being fabulously independent! I hope that you don't experience bad side effects from the radiation or your other treatments.
All the Best,

Kat, I am sorry to hear about you having to have the surgery and discovering more nodules. Let's hope your treatments are kind to you and smash out that nasty beast once and for all.
Your lust for life amazes me. I love your plan of doing the film school and writing a screenplay. I believe in you and your determination and strength in all you've been through just goes to show--you can do anything you decide to do. Sending all my positive energy and strength in your direction.
You go girl!

Sorry to hear
about the regrowth. You see there was a reason for them to not get it all durring the first surgery. Having to go back probably saved your life. Yeah I guess you will get toasted again but, I guess ya gottta do what ya gotta do.
About the boyfriend. Too bad. He may still end up being a good friend and one of your best advocates/prayer warrior. I have a feeling that you leave an impression where ever you go.
Good luck with the new schooling. Looks like you have a good plan. Continued prayers for you.0 -

Kat... you astound me with your Can Do attitude! You are truly an Amazing young Woman and such a source of Inspiration to so many of us.
I wish you well as you begin radiation treatment. I pray your recovery go smoothly and quickly. Congratulations on your acceptance to film school! Can't wait to see your movie! Have you thought of who'd you like to play the leading role?
Big hugs to you. You just brought a smile to my face.

Oh Kat
It is so wonderful to hear from you. Although the news you got is upsetting, I believe God is watching over you. And that you have some incredible doctors. I am thankful that this surgery not only helped to drain fluid, but found those sneaky little cells that tried to invade your body...again. I pray that the radiation treatments do what they do best and kill those little b*stards! And I pray that you have an easier time with the treatments.
So you want to write a screenplay. Isn't that special! Good for you! Have you thought of a title? I bet there are many swirling through that beautiful head of yours. I will bring plenty of popcorn and some bubble to the premiere!
Keep that upbeat personality going. You are like the sunshine on a fresh morning day.

News
Kat,
Sorry to hear the cancer is growing back. Everything you are doing will hopefully rid you of this beast that seems to have a thing for you. If anyone has a story to tell it is certainly you. I'm sure you will do a great job in the class and with your screen play. I have always thought of writing a book, my patience always seems to run out. I do better with my blog as I don't have to write as much. Regarding your boyfriend you need to do what is best for you. You are young and have a lot of living to do. I wish you the best with your treatments. If you ever have a wound or surgical site that is not healing ask them about a KCI vacuum. I've used one twice. Keep us posted. I pray for you every night.
((hugs))

You are remarkable!
Dear Kat,
There is no doubt in my mind that you will successfully finish your screen play and get it sold to a movie producer. I wish "all the stars in the universe" luck to accomplish this goal.
Visualize the cancer in the nodules and then visualize tiny soldiers killing that cancer. The mind is powerful and can accomplish the impossible.
You are in my prayers.
Lots of Love and Lots of Hugs,
