Thank you so much Liz. You made me cry but in a nice way, I appreciate your note and prayers very much. I read your note to my family including my Dad. We all say thank you and I looked at your info looks like you were both diagnosed July of 2011. We hope and pray your difficult times will be replaced with very long healthy happy life with all your loved ones. It's weird but all the cancer patients seem like a big family... One wishes nothing less for others than what they wish for their loved one... I'll be thinking of all of you in my prayers and everyone else going through difficult times...0 -

Hi DadysGirl,
Didn't mean to make you cry sorry, I think that its good to cry once in a while to take all those bottled up emotions out of your system.
I'm not sure but back then I thought you had posted a picture of you and your dad (I think one of you two had a yellow shirt on).
How is your dad doing today? Will be praying for you and your dad... Take care (((HUGS)))
Sincerely,

It was good no need to be sorry, whenever I get emotional I take time to pray at those weak moments for everyone on this earth.
As we speak Dad is taking a walk in the short hallway back and forth. I usually walk with him but in this unit if I walk with him there won't be room left for nurses... There's only 6 beds in this unit... He did not get drunk last night only small things like red ears face, hay feverish symptoms little bit of reflux...
They had to re tube the chemo twice as it was beeping and not going through so it got administered on a slower rate with pauses in between chemo taken to pharmacy to get retubed... I never did add a picture of us, maybe I will one of these days... I saw your pictures, you're very pretty and your daughter is adorable... Love and hugs.. By the wa... He had his day -5 chemo today which will be same chemo for days -4 -3 -2 as well... They said symptoms side effects of these will be later on... They administered it at 8am he is done for today... Appetite still good... Mike how are you doing? Don't forget us... Wonder if you left for home sweet home...0 -

Well I cant believe it but my doctor just came in my room and informed me that im going home tomorrow. The engrafement of my WBC have begun and aslong as their is more growth tonight ill be discharged tomorrow evening. I will be leaving at day +9, which ive been told is a record for this hospital. So ive been working all morning on getting the carpet cleaners and pet groomer appointments moved to tomorrow morning so i can go home. The doctor explained to me that the treatment that im receiving can all be done outpatient. So ill be coming to the clinic everyday for a while getting labs drawn and any replacements if needed. I am over the moon right now and really am grateful for all the well wishes. There is so much power in prayer.0 -

Mike,
I've been offline for a bit but have followed the posts. Wow, you are such an inspiration. Truly you are! I am just thrilled at your news that you can go home to be with the beagles!! There is a lot to be said for being fit going into chemo and/or transplants. I have been coming back really quick from my treatments not only how I feel but my bloodwork too. My doctor said that going into treatment in a fit condition really makes a difference. (You are proof of it) They told me that I am a basically healthy 60 year old who happens to have cancer.
Kind of funny in a sick way!
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I am so proud of how you have handled this "situation" that you find yourself in! 9 days!! Wow!! I know that you will continue to take care and do the right things! Hope that your appetite returns soon.
Continued prayers.

Hey Guys
Well i got to sleep in my own bed last night which felt so great. You forget how much the small things you miss when you dont have them anymore.
Of course my luck I get home yesterday and we had a huge storm here in VA and lost power around 11 30 pm LOL but hey ill take home with no power any time rather than staying in the hospital. At the clinic today getting labs and waiting to see if I need any replinishments.
Daddys Girl, I hope and pray your dad is doing well. Please keep us updated and I know we are all praying for this to be as easy as possible for him.
Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers, they have meant so much0 -

I'm sorry about the storm Mike but I guess you didn't mind it so that's good... We're very happy for you Mike... Dad is @ day -3. Last night he developed pain on upper left abdominal area as he takes deep breath. A little over the bottom of rib cage behind it. He also gets it when he presses in the area. They have him on no food drink for 8 hrs to do an ultrasound of his spleen. I hope it is just something muscular even though Dad doesn't think so... I hope it won't be anything serious... Thank you Mike and all of you for your thoughts and prayers... My Dad loves Virginia he wanted to move down there after retirement... I hope he will have many many more healthy yrs ahead along with everyone else so he everyone else may live their dreams...
I hope I will continue to give good reports... And wishing the same from you Mike and others as well.. Take care.0 -

Hey everyone. Im doing well. I went to the clinic yesterday and had my labs drawn. My WBC was at 4.7!!!!! My hemaglobin and plateletes were back on the climb as well. I didnt need anything except a little Magnesium. They gave me today off and are wanting me to come back tomorrow to have routine labs again. I will also be meeting with my nurse practitioner in regards to removing the hickman line soon. I felt so good sleep in today too. My mom is here and she is definitely in mom mode full force. She has every intention to getting these pounds that i was happy to lose back on me lol. Im constantly reminded how blessed I am and how grateful I am to have so much support.
DaddysGirl,I continue to pray for your dad and your family. When he gets the Melphalan please please please have hime chew ice and ice pops during the infusion and thirty minutes after its done. Thats what I did and I had no sores only a tender spot on the side of my tongue. It was advice given to me and it seemed to do the trick. Hes gonna get through this and get back to a good quality of life in no time.
Thank you all for your concerns0 -

Hi DadysGirl,
No way will we forget you! I've had you, your dad and family in my prayers from day one, as I do with all of our friends here. Sometimes we get side tracked with life and don't post as quick as we should, but that doesn't mean we've forgotten. My days can get hectic with babysitting my grandbaby Lizzy, but I can usually find time in the evening to respond. Your dad is in my age range and even though the "60"s" seem old to younger folks, we are a lot tougher than we look. This is going to be a tough period for your dad, but it sounds like he is in good hands and getting good care. Hopefully he will sail through this with minimal discomfort. You are such a great daughter...your dad is very lucky to have such a wonderful supportive daughter. Hang in there and keep us informed...you might want to start a new discussion concerning your dad since this thred has gotten so long. I'm sure Mike is doing well and enjoying his new found freedom at home away from the hospital. You take care, and don't worry...we have not forgotten you and your dad. Alwyas here for you! Much love...sue (FNHL-2-3A-6/10)0 -
