    wow
Wow...it seems most of you have had a very high success rate. That's comforting to know.

Wonder what the longest remission is around here? Hmmm....either way, sounds promising.

    Thanks

P.S. What's the difference in a colon rectal dr and a gastro?

54 when diagnosed although I had symptoms for about a year before that.
Now 3 1/2 years out, doing well.

    From Google:
A gastroenterologist has a particular interest in diseases of the digestive tract.
A colorectal surgeon has a particular interest in diseases of the colon and rectum.

This site has a picture that might help (I always find pictures to be of assistance with bodily issues):
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_gastrointestinal_tract

The gastro tract consists of the stomach and intestine, so that's what a gastro doctor would be of help with. The colo-rectal doctor would be of help specifically with issues concerning the colon, rectum, and anus.

    treatment summary
The first few weeks weren't too bad. No nausea but not much appetite. Mouth sores on week 2 and again this week (week 6).

I started taking occasional pain meds for the radiation burns in week 4 and have been on them round the clock through week 5. I expect I'll need them for another week or two.

My digestion system is whack. I'm limiting diet to rice, toast, chicken, broth, popsicles.

    JUST 3 MORE RADIATION SESSIONS!

Bless your heart....it sounds like no fun. I hope and pray the last 3 are not Too bad and you start recovering soon. I think you deserve a big juicy steak.

    Hi Bella
You're almost done - next week will probably be rather rough, but you're very near the end of the trip - hang in there!
