Curve Ball
I returned to work today, but had a mammogram scheduled early morning first. I ended up having to have extra films done and then they took me right to ultra sound. I'm now waiting for a call from my surgeon's office to schedule to have a core biopsy done. I really need your prayers! I know my husband will call me to see how the mammogram went and I dread having to tell him this. I've already had cancer in the same side twice. This is again in that side, in the reconstructed breast. The area is the same area as the second lump along the scar tissue. The Dr. who reviewed the ultra sound said there is fluid in it and it doesn't appear to be scar tissue. She did say it could just be residual fluid from surgery (3 1/2 years ago).
I'm sitting here at work trying to get my head together. I thought if I had some of you who understand the anxiety praying for me, I would feel you with me and be able to keep going.
Thanks,
Barb A

wow
I thought I was the only one. I had a biopsy done last week on the reconstructed breast. One was along the scar and the other was more under my arm. I am praying that it is just scar tissue. (I haven't gotten the results yet...will call tomorrow, if I don't hear by then)
I definitely feel your pain and totally get your anxiety. I am feeling the same way, but trying not to show it to everyone. I will keep you in my prayers and will be checking for your updates.
Lots of hugs and good thoughts!!0 -

Looking for the silver lining
Dear Barb,
Not having cancer in your spine was good. You are not stage IV. Even if this turns out to be cancer in your breast it would not be stage IV but continue to be a local recurrence. I am hoping you have residual fluid and not anything to serious.
Not great news, but not the worse either.
Best wishes,

How are you? Any news? Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. I agree with Lynn, only the cancer survivor could be happy with disk rupture. Yes, it is a good news.
I have had only base line for my Flap, and have been doing MRI annually not the Mamo. I hope I am not missing0 -

Thanks for all the responses. It really helps to have your support.
I haven't heard from the surgeon's office yet to even schedule the biopsy. I called my regular dr yesterday and they were still trying to decide if they should put the order in or my oncologist. I got upset and said I didn't care who did it, just get it done. The oncology nurse called yesterday afternoon to tell me the surgeon's office would be calling me by Monday to schedule the biopsy. The waiting is crazy and I've never had this slow of a reaction with any of my doctors. I won't be waiting until Monday !
To top it off, I found out this morning that my beloved 11 year old dog, Muggsy, has cancer. He's my shadow and has been by my side through both my diagnosis, so it's my turn to be by his side.
Thanks again to all with prayers and well wishes. I appreciate it

So sorry you are going through this again, and with your dog. Probably the hardest part will be once again waiting over a weekend just to schedule the biopsy. If only they really knew how hard the waiting game is.
I will keep you in my prayers!

Hi everyone. Once again, thanks for the support. Late Friday I finally got my biopsy appointment. It is this afternoon. Sorry it's such late notice, but I'll take up the offer of the pink bus! I didn't sleep much last night, so hopefully I'll just sleep right through it. If only that were possible!
