Call from MDA-- a miracle!
I can't believe this. She said that the faslodex was obviously a very "powerful biologically active agent" for me and I should stay on it.
Amazing news! I am still in shock. I have only been on faslodex for about a month, but I told Danny yesterday that I was clearly feeling better (either from stopping arimidex or starting faslodex or both).
I love too that my home town physician's instincts were right on (again). Wow, what news! I didn't even ask what my markers were; I just heard remssion and went into shock (good shock). :-)
Thank you ladies for all your support and love. Believe me, I have felt it. I will see my regular physician on Oct 2 and have markers drawn then, so I'll keep you posted.

As I'm writing this, I'm almost tearing from happiness. This is a true miracle. I'm very happy for you. REALLY HAPPY!!!
There have been some bad news lately on this forum - and we will continue to pray - so reading this made me feel like our prayers get answered, again. You're loved and blessed.

This makes your trip to MD Anderson so worthwhile. Not that they actually did anything, but it just gives another thumbs up to your current state. I'm so happy for you.
Now, if someone could figure out what it is about you (20+ years in first remission, now such a positive response to this drug), we might bottle it and give it to all who are dealing with recurrences.
Can't tell you how happy this makes me for you!

Yes Suzanne, I am a strange duck. 1) most young women don't have the type of tumor that I had (originally strongly ER+ and PR+) and 2) I have yet to meet anyone (personally) with a 22 year remission. I hear that they are out there, but I never have met one on this MB or anywhere else. But, I figure, if I can do it, many of you can too. I hope that my story encourages others.
I never expected to hear that news this morning and we are all still in shock. I am very excited and cautiously optimistic. I don't think I will truly believe it until I hear it from my own doc.
I also have to stop a minute and say that I am so sorry for those not getting good news. I am praying that you too have something to celebrate soon. ;Don't ever give up--you never know what new drug is around the corner that may be the ticket for you.0 -

I am doing backflips. Well, figuratively because if I actually attempted a back flip I would be in the hospital. But in my head, I am a flipping all over with joy for your good news. Hooray!!

That is the best news ever! And how wonderful that your regular doctor was on the right track as well. I'm sure it is reassuring. Take some time out now to celebrate with your hubby. Life is good and God is great!

You feel better because you stopped Arimidex. Great news being in remission. Change in medication and only two injection have had a significant impact! Hoping for the low markers and more good news! freedom sounds wonderful.
