Constipation
Hi Kim,
I take flax seed after every meal. When I really need assistance I drink prune juice. One time I drank some aloe vera juice. That worked a little too well. After drinking the aloe vera juice I had to stay close to the bathroom and I must have had the cleanest colon in town. Take care.
Peace and Blessings,

I am now on colace and Miralax every day. I take them every morning, the Miralax I mix with juice or gatorade. My husband had to give me 4 enemas in 8 weeks before I started taking those things, and the dr. doesn't want me having enemas. I had horrible pain so I am glad I found something that works. Ask your dr. if those items are ok for you.
It only says to take it for no more than 7 days but your doctor approved you for everyday? There is another poster that said she takes it every day - sorry girl for forgetting who it was. Thanks for sharing, I'll ask my doctor.

Where did you find that juice at? I'm thinking a health store? That would be wonderful if I'd be able to take it just in case. Is it safe to take several times a week or do you just do it when you feel the need? Thanks for your input. I've added flax seed to my prune juice so I'm at least getting more fiber in two ways.
Blessings to you too! Kim0 -

I was just remembering an old remedy that is about as natural as you can get...hot water.
Make a cup of water as hot as your mouth can stand but not enough to burn and drink it as quickly as you can...no need to gulp but don't let it cool off too much before done.
I know it works for some. I personally have used it when no drug store in sight for getting over the counter help.
Hope you can stay regular,

I was surprised too. But he said it can't hurt me. Maybe when I'm done with chemo I'll be back to "normal". But my husband says I never was normal.0 -

Children's suppositories. Insert it, lay down, until you feel pressure, then go poop! About 10 minutes. I also lay on my stomach.0 -

Hi Kim,
How are you feeling now? Have you found what works for you?
I continue to try different things too.
Lately, I have been having stomach pain often. I do not know if it is what I am eating or something else. I have a colonoscopy scheduled in October. It is the first one I have had since my colon resection in 2008 although I have been having regular sigmoidoscopies every 4 months since the resection.
I hope you are doing well.
Hugs,

Thanks for asking. I'm doing better. I'm taking fennel tea and the rest of the stuff listed above. Some days are better than others with eliminating waste. On the days I'm not going much I'm still suffering. Still explosive bathroom issues at times. Just don't know what causes it. My diet is pretty normal. I'm also exploring different things too. Good luck with the colonoscopy. Hope you are feeling well also.

try and relax its gonna come out , May be a blockage
I tried walking, water and chewing gum don't swallow.
Then if it did not help do it yourself microlax enemas.
I hate hospitals. But go if needed.
Sorru you are suffering.

Bowel training
Kim, you might look into the MD Anderson Bowel Training protocol. They have a PDF online. It sounds like making things regularly regular is what you need.

LOL.... Me Too
Hi Kim, We need to remember that our guts that been through hell and back with radation, chemo, surgeries, and we'll always have problems of not being able to go, or cant stop going. Me I'm on the Cant stop going sence last Friday night. Im going every 10 mins or so 24 hours a day and night. Makes me wonder where it all comes from? I would think it should be clamming down soon to 10 bm's a day and stop this 10 bm's in 1/2 hour. Lastnight I wrote down the times of my bm's and I went 17 times throughout the night and lastnight wasn't as bad as it has been. I'm all for the stop eating thing for a day or two and only do juices, broth, and water in hopes of flushing whatever is going on out of me. In the mean time I'll meet ya on the bridge0 -
dropping the big one...
Here are several more home remedies. These may more properly run your schedule, or schedule the run(s).0 -

Kim,
That was probably me. I take Miralax twice a day, every day. I've been doing that for several years, on doctor's orders.

Kim,
Our daughter who was so backed up 2 years ago that she ended up in the hospital for 4 days has been on 1/2 cap of Miralax twice a day for two years. I'm not thrilled about it but it keeps her safe.

Blue Berries and/or Blue berry cranberry juice works f0r me. The brand name is OASIS and I buy it here in Canada in the grocery store. It is also a anti=toxant.
Sorry you are suffering,

Thank you everyone
Actually some days my poop starts out being formed and then by the end of the day ends up being the runs. I'm trying most of your suggestions except the blueberries - sorry just can't put those little things in my mouth - LOL always reminds me of the movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" and the little blueberry girl. Still sometimes I'm having a hard time going and eating has nothing to do with it. I'm a fairly simple eater, but love my veggies. Just suffer so if I'm not going everyday. I'm going to ask my doctor about the Miralax but I'm not wanting to do the immodium if it gives me the runs. Can't trade one for the other or have to do both. Looked at the MD Anderson thing and I've kind of implemented that for a couple months and it didn't really make much difference. Keep the suggestions coming as I'm not really wanting to jump over that bridge LOL.
Hugs! Kim0
