I received an e-mail from Nicole's father today informing me that she passed away yesterday afternoon. We had become good friends over the last year as we both had bone mets and it often seemed as if we were fighting together for each other. We had planned on meeting in person a few times but it had been postponed as she was having difficulty with treatment and more tumors kept popping up. It looked like we were going to meet later this month as she had finished her radiation treatment and was recovering slowly; I thought. Apparently she wasn't doing as well as she always wrote (she was so strong and positive)and yesterday the artery in her throat gave out and she bled to death in her father's arms quickly.
She was strong in her faith and supported me so kindly as I was going through chemo and radiation even while she was going through her own treatment. I thought you all should know as she was on this board for awhile and I'm sure made some friends. Please remember her and do whatever seems appropriate for losing such a beautiful human to a disease that knows no mercy. We are all family and warriors in the fight against cancer.     It's still hard to process when we lose someone from this family....especially someone so young and such a beautiful person inside and out, such a loss.

    In my day to day life, I rarely have someone I know pass. On here there have been more than I am accustomed to for sure. Thankfully comparatively and considering the treadful disease, these are few.

    But it still hurts to lose someone....

    Saying a special prayer for her, her family and friends....

    In addition, a special prayer for all of the other friends and family on here going through their own battles right now, with recurrence and just fighting to survive in many stages of treatment and recovery.

    I don't even know what to say. I will light a candle in Nicole's memory and I will say a prayer for her father and her family.

    I am so sorry to hear the news; another good friend is gone from this world. The only good thing about it is that she is not suffering anymore with this crap. Thanks for keeping us posted Bob.

    Even when it's hard news to share. Did her father say she wasn't doing well? I was under the assumption that someone could be seeming to be doing very well, and still have an artery rupture. I feel badly for her family; I feel sorry for us, too - she was a kind, supportive voice - the kind that helps us all.

    I am so saddened to hear of Nicole's sudden passing. Her young spirit and strength really touched me. Her kindness was so genuine. I am so sad.

    So sad...
    It breaks my heart each time we lose another warrior to this horrible disease. Whether it is someone we have met, or someone we have chatted with online, the loss is still very painful.

    Will be keeping her family in prayers.

    I'll always remember Nicole for her sincere, caring and positive posts. She will be missed by many. Sending positive thoughts and energy to her family. Thanks for keeping us informed AB.

    Thank you for the beautiful post.
    Nicole was lucky to have you as a partner in recovery, AB. May she, her family and loved ones find comfort and serenity as time moves on.

    These last seven and a half months have tried my soul--and my faith--in ways I never imagined. I don't think I'll ever understand why good, ethical, kind human beings are afflicted with the evil of cancer.
