Enjoying summer as its speeds past
I am once again very busy procrastinating about getting this place cleaned up for company. I have a CouchSurfer coming in to see his nephew's team in the National Lifeguard Competiton across the bridge in Cape May. Other than that its grillin', chillin' and seeing some music.
Hosting people means a little extra work, but it is well worth it. I have met great folks from all over the world. Its really rewarding to show people town from a local's perspective or to help them get situated for their summer jobs. I recently got the sweetest reference from some great Croatian kids that stayed with me last month. We still keep in touch.
"Ray was, and still is like our forgotten relative from USA. He accepted us like we know each other for years and we didn't feel like a strangers for a single second. He made our first couchsurf experience unforgettable. Not only that he gave us couch to sleep on, but he also continued helping us after we settled in our own house.
He was our friend, guide, older brother and personal adviser. If every place in the world had one Ray we would never have to worry about going to unknown."
They were being very kind with the "older brother" bit... grandfather or uncle would probably have been more apt, LOL -
Ray you always bussy man!daBeachBum said:Enjoying summer as its speeds past

Pepe,
I looked at the pictures on your Expressions page. Trust me, my place is a dump! compared to yours :-p But it is on the bay and the beach is three blocks away.
You (or anyone else on the board) are always welcome to PM me if you're in the NJ area and looking to visit and get some beach time in for a few days :-)
Enjoy your weekend! -
