My CEA went down some- PET/CT scan on Monday
As some of you know, I had been concerned because my CEA had been rising up and up lately & was at a high of 317 two months ago. I was really starting to sweat it. When it was checked again a month ago, it had gone down slightly from 317 to 305. Today I got the results of the CEA blood draw from Tuesday. It went down a bit more- now down to 286. So, it's obviously still quite elevated & I know that all the activity and recent pain, etc. from my recurrent rectal tumor is probably why it was up so high, but I'm still quite relieved to find out that it's now been going in the right direction at least & that's down! With being in the hospital and having the lung biopsy just a couple of weeks ago, I had to skip having the Avastin the past two times. With skipping the Avastin, I had feared the CEA would have gone up, so I was pleasantly surprised that it went down instead. Just thought I'd share that news! I have a PET/CT scan coming up this Monday, July 18th. I meet with my onc the next day & I'll have the scan results that day, on the 19th. Prayers are always appreciated!!
Hugs,
Lisa

Good
Good to hear that it is continuing to go down, even if slightly it's still in the right direction. You are in my prayers for a good outcoming on your PET scan on Monday. Are you going to be starting treatment back up or waiting for the doctor's appointment? Good wishes for a great doctor appointment too.

This is one case where going downhill is good!
I'm glad to see your CEA headed in the right direction!
My next scan is a week behind you. My CEA basically went 12, 9, 7, 5, 3.7, 3.3 and was 3.1 yesterday. I'm almost back under that magic number 3.
Praying that your PET matches your decline in CEA, and that tumors are shrinking!
