My Mother Nancy

Let me just start by saying, this site was very important to my mother, and she made me promise that I would continue to post for her incase anything happened. Most of you know about her hospitalization around mothers day. My mother finally came home on hospice about 2 weeks ago, Dr.S had told her to go home on hospice for pain management, and that if she started to get better, then we could resume Chemo. Unfortunately, it is very unlikely that this will actually happen. My mother is progressively declining. Lately she has become more and more confused and tired. This morning was the first time that she was extremely hard to arouse. She doesn't want anyone thinking that she's giving up, mentally she's fighting as hard as she can, her body is just giving up on her.

    Your mom is a sweet soul, deeply loved and respected by so many on this board. Everyone is so sad that her body is fading. Everyone knows that her spirit fights on, and will live forever.

    Cheryl...your mom spoke of you so often. Thank you for updating us. I talked to your aunt and your grandmother last weekend, but am so reluctant to intrude on Nancy's time with her family, so I have not called back.

    It has been an honor and a privilege to know your mom. I am so very sorry for you and Joe and your little brothers. The 4 of you are her heart.

    Tell her that Carlene sends her "XXXOOOXXX". She always ended her texts to me that way.

    Your mom is loved my so many on these boards. Thank you for updating about her. I know she is a fighter. In all of her posts, she was checking on a trial or the next step. I followed all of her posts.

    Can't begin to tell you how I feel. I am praying for you and your family. Please tell your mom that she has been on my mind every single day and I miss her on here.

    and we miss her so much. She has been through so much. I hope she is not in any pain. This site means a lot to me and your mom has been there to help me and other woman. Thank you for taking the time to inform us, but please take good care of yourself...val

    Thank you so much for letting us know what is going on. Nancy is much loved and admired on this site. We all know that she is a fighter, and fight she will. I've always been impressed with her dignity, honesty and strength. She fiercely loves her family. I can only imagine how hard this is for you . Please take care of yourself and know you're all in our thoughts and prayers.

    Thank you for posting. I can only scratch the surface of how painful it must be for you. Your Mom is a gracious and strong lady...and I suspect the apple didn't roll far from the tree!

    Are you a nurse, too? Nancy told me that you work at the same hospital where she used to work, but I don't remember if she said you were a nurse or not. I have chemo brain, or old age brain. I'm never sure which one is responsible.

    My name is Lisa13Q and I spoke to your mother a number of times. I also met her at MSKCC as my mother was also being treated there. Your Mom is an absolutely wonderful woman and an inspiration to us all. I hope you are proud of her. I have recently been on this journey with my mother as well and my heart goes out to you. Please stay be her side, she will know you are there. Please tell her you love her... please please keep us posted, and tell Nancy I love her as well. I am currently staying at my Mom's apartment near White Plains, NY....if you ever want to get together, lease let me know........your mom has great courage....very sorry for your news....please feel free to PM in the cancer boards if you need...sincerely, Lisa

    am a daughter whose mother has been fighting advanced primary peritoneal/ovarian cancer. I am with you in spirit today and in the days to come. I will hold you close in my heart and in my mind. Your mother seems much like mine, too busy living to deal with all of this, although your mom is a bit younger. Please feel free to ask questions of the ladies on this board, as well as of myself, as you face this uncertain time.

    No, that's my neice, sadly my mother and i don't have very many pictures together, seeing as one of us always had to be the photographer

Your mother has always been the most gracious and thoughtful person sharing, supporting, advising, as she displayed such strength and determination to live on and continue to be there for all of you.
