I got a text from Nancy today. She has been in the hospital since Saturday. I will try and see her tomorrow. She has been plagued with colitis, ascites, and pain. No bowel obstruction, per the x-rays. They drained 4 liters of fluid but she is still in lots of pain. Hopefully the drugs she just started on for the pain will help.

    Carlene...thanks so much for letting us know. I was wondering about her and was already praying for her. I will continue to pray for her. This really upsets me. Since I hadn't seen her on the boards I didn't know what was wrong. I actually was thinking about her on Mother's Day and her sweet children.

    Good news & not so good news
    Carlene: thanks for letting us know that Nancy is still alive! Having pain after having ascites drained is scary as well as miserable. The same thing happened to me. The nurse explained that there are a lot of lymph nodes in the abdomen & they get congested from the ascites. I got a lot of relief from the belly massage--especially under the ribs where it hurt the most. I did it myself several times/day.

    Please convey my good wishes & (((HUGS))) along with the rest to Nancy.

    I just sent you a rambling worried private message about Nancy; and am thrilled that you have some news for us, although not the news we wanted. I hope the hospitalization is just a convenience to control the ascites and accompanying pain and that she will be coming home soon.

    My imagination is so much worse than the reality most of the times, so these prolonged silences from anyone here worry the crap out of me. Please add my love to the heap you are carrying to Nancy from everyone here. I know a visit from you is exactly what she needs.

    Thinking and praying for Nancy and family
    Just want Nancy to know I have been keeping her in my prayers. I know she has not been feeling well. I am hoping that they will be able to make her feel much better with this hospitalization and she will be home soon. Hoping the new chemo kicks in soon . Love and hugs!
