Let me start over...
HI EVERYONE...I HAVE MISSED YOU ...im happy to see so many familiar faces and new ones too! I do have some good news...i got my health insurance back and i have started going back to my doctors appointments and started physical therapy again YEAH!
Its a good thing to cuz over the past few months i have had all these weird side effects...you know me, if its weird, unusual or just plain unheard of ...i get it!! It turns out that im allergic to the tamoxifen and im experincing some rare side effects/ allergic reactions to it, one example...i have dark brown vein looking lines all up and down my legs...its so attractive i think i want to keep them...hehe! If nothing else i like seeing peoples faces when they see it...it grosses people out! So they ended up taking me off the tamoxifen to see what allergic symptoms are from it and which ones are not (to many to list) also cuz my doc thinks i may be in menopause and we all know you dont take tamoxifen if your in menapause, so for 6 weeks i cant take any pills so they can determine this. Which thats awesome NO PILLS FOR 6 WHOLE WEEKS! (for those who dont know...i am NOT a pill person).
I go to therapy so i can be tortured for this frozen shoulder...which my therapist says we have to thaw it out...hehe! I will be so happy to finally be able to use my arm again...its seems this has been going on forever!
Anyway i want to thank you girls for being so AWESOME! I dont like being a bummer cuz one thing we all know is life is short and we may not like the hand we were dealt with but we can still try and make the best of it.

Your frozen shoulder
This post is SO much more cheerful than the last one. I certainly know what it is like to feel depressed.
Your mention of frozen shoulder struck me. I am glad to know that I am not the only one with that particular problem. Mine started with the axillary dissection and definitely did not improve any after the mastectomy. I went to PT for a while but the chemo made me too sick to go to PT. By the time chemo was over and I was feeling better my shoulder was really a mess. I wound up going to an orthopedist and the Mon. after Thanksgiving 2010 I had surgery. He said I had very dense adhesions in the shoulder joint which he removed along with a piece of the end of my clavicle (collarbone). I am now going to PT 3x/week. Twice a week I take an exercise class at the Y called Living Strong Living Well. It is specifically for cancer patients/survivors. I am determined to get my complete range of motion back. So far so good but it is neither easy nor fun.0 -

I've missed your humor, and the ability to look at the good side of a crappy situation. And if there isn't one, well we'll just make one up. Haha, the mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Take care

Hope things get better for you...I had frozen shoulder once, too. It thawed on it's own! Weird, I know...didn't do any PT or anything. It was very, very painful though!
Hang tough sister!

JoJo... it's always good to
JoJo... it's always good to hear from you whether you are having some tough days or not. We are here for you no matter what.
It's wonderful to hear your insurance is back! Great news.
Tamoxifen might not of worked for you, but don't worry because the doctors will come up with something else. Those side effects you describe sound awful, but at least you know what was causing them.
Enjoy your 6 week break from pills. I wish I could say the same. Hang in there. You are like a ray of sunshine on the board. I appreciate your upbeat nature, but I can understand if sometimes you feel a little blue. We all have days like that.
Take care, God bless.

I had to go to physical
I had to go to physical therapy for frozen shoulder too and I know how painful it is. I almost passed out during one session. That's when I found out why they had smelling salts taped to the wall! It's necessary though because I never could have gotten it unfrozen by myself. Hard to believe mine was caused because I didn't move my arm after surgery. My sister's doc gave her exercises to do but mine didn't. hang in there.0 -

Yuck! I don't like taking tamoxifen. The leg cramping is bad for me. And I still get really bad heart palpatations...I think it might be from that drug.
So glad you're back...you're a strong gal!

I am so happy to see you back on here. Sorry for all the issues but I know you will deal with them step by step and bit by bit. As far as the other post and depression, don't try to sugar coat the down feelings. They are real and it is not good to try and ignore them. Acknowledge them and then go from there. It may be you need some of that, I know you hate it, medicine but you might also be able to deal with it other ways. Talking it out can certainly help and we are here for you to do that. But the best thing is that you are here and we love that you are back.

Glad to see you are back.
I have had a lot of issue with my shoulder as well and that was before by BC. My PC said it was not quite frozen but pretty close. I started going to water aerobics and it helped a lot. When I had my surgery I couldn't go for a couple of weeks and it started getting worse. I did go back before my rads started and it was again helping. Then of course I couldn't go during rads and it got pretty bad. Since I finished rads and started the water aerobics it has gotten so much better. Maybe you could give that a try.
Hugs,
Georgia0
