naturopath battles, take care
Met a naturopath in a vitamin shop and had an hour long consult about 10 days ago.
she recommended about $300 of extras on top of current supplements. I was kind of convinced but also suspicious. finding a really good cancer focused naturopath was in my dreams.
So spoke with the answer to my dreams last night.
This lady has been a naturopath for 27 years.
She lectures in naturopathy at college.
I cannot get in to see her for 4 weeks but am emailing my list of supplements, medication and diet and will get her detailed feedback asap.
She is a nutricionist.
She is a bowel cancer survivor.
She works for bowel cancer australia and provides phone support.
She is well known and will take me on as a patient. Maybe good calma works faster than I thought. I helped bowel cancer australia a little and now its coming back to me.
She will see me privately as I don't want the official bowel cancer Australia approved therapies, I prefer more cutting edge. I don't want a triple blind trial supported approach. I would rather hear her state what she believes is best for me.
Well here is the shock. Get off most of the things the first naturopath recommended 10 days ago while your on folfox.
she said I have enough anti oxidants floating around from my juices and also backed up on onc about juice diarrhea link. she also reconfirmed slippery elm. But with advice to have it away from other supplements and pills and before food and take my probiotic supplement 3 times a day.
I was impressed just by this quick 15 minute chat by phone.
I am not surprised by the difference of opinions, I am glad, a little tension between complementary specialists is good. I will get the bottom of this with patience and good advice.
Today was a great day, got kids to school early, did 2 hours walking with friends, attended cancer support group for 90 minutes with great meditation and palliative care talk, then visited another friend Phil in hospital who had his rectal cancer out 9 days ago, picked up kids and took kids to the doctor, we all went to swimming lesson and I got in 18 laps and went out for diner with family friends kids birthday party at sizzler. The kids and I crashed.
A very busy productive day. I fell asleep while the kids were at the doctors. So I had a little break.
Make sure you get good advice re supplements, its better to be safe than sorry.
Take care everyone,
