Sending flowers to Heidi's home
Our dear Claudia (aka Chen) has graciously offered to coordinate the sending of flowers to Heidi's family in Wisconsin. She knows Heidi's street address and is willing to make all of the arrangements. I have offered to provide Chen's contact information to those wanting to contribute toward the flowers.
Chen has emphasized that it is definitely NOT about the money: any amount, large or small is more than welcome. If you are interested, please let me know via CSN Private Message and I will be happy to pass along the address where you can send your contributions.
Aortus (aka Joe)

Thank you so much....this
Thank you so much....this is such a devastating turn of events for the Kindred Spirits. I will be making the arrangenents to send flowers befitting not just our sweet Heidi, but which will hopefully reflect the hearts of us here who came to know and love her.

I also remember from her holiday post that she LOVED the color blue! I was able to find a lovely large arrangement of BLUE Hydrangeas in a pretty silver bucket...and here is the card I "signed" from all of us:
As Kindred Spirits, our ♥ were saddened to lose one of our shining stars. Heidi was a constant source of encouragement on the Breast Cancer boards. We send ♥felt condolences from our family to yours.
The Kindred Spirits at CSN
This will of course include our FB friends who migrated from here to there!
Any money you lovingly donate, I will make sure goes to the cost of the flowers~ any leftover will go to either a penguin rescue ( KathiM "stole" my idea! LOL LOL) or to the ACS or a similar BC cause. Again, I hope I have your blessing on this.
Hugs,

What a great idea! I am
What a great idea! I am sure Heidi's family will be moved by how highly she was thought of by the CSN cyber family.
I was wondering... do you think we can also include personal sentiments so that her family can read and treasure how much Heidi was loved and thought of by us? If so, should we PM our sentiments to Joe or Claudia. This is just a suggestion.

I know that there is an online guestbook; I signed it yesterday, as did some of the other Warrior/-Survivors. Joe posted a link to the obituary/guestbook. -

((((((hugs)))) to you, Kathi! I know that times are difficult emotionally, physically and OMG financially for so many of us. But I also know that we are a united Sisterhood ( the brothers know they are valued members too) with regards Heidi. I have a suspicion that I won't need to shout~ sending a few dollars to be part of the larger picture is probably in our stretched budgets and large hearts.

Claudia, I would like to participate
I may not have mentioned this here before, but I'm the Memorial Service Coordinator at my church (like a wedding coordinator, but memorial services). Part of my job is to work with florists.
While I always respect a family's wishes about flowers, over the years of doing this, I've cultivated (pun intended) a personal dislike for what I call "death flowers" -- those typical funeral arrangements of white lilies, gladiolas, etc. One of the elderly women at my church used to say, "It looks like someone DIED or something!"
So I was so happy to see, Chen, that you chose cheerful, sunny hydrangeas for Heidi -- with even a little "bling" for them to reside in! A perfect way to honor Heidi's sweet, strong spirit -- with a little joy instead of sadness.

Traci~ I am so pleased! I too shy away from the white flowers that we generally see; I just wanted to remember our sister with something reflective of her likes. Had it been purple, red, pink or green, I would have chosen a plant/arrangement with those colors to honor her by.
Had I only been able to find a penguin shaped blue topiary....and yeah, I looked!
Thank you for letting us know another facet of your life, Traci; you never cease to amaze and impress me.
