Devastating news about my mom

Just got the news yesterday on my moms pathology report. Two weeks ago my mom had surgery to remove a tumor from her stomach. We just found out the tumor is cancerous. Im devastated! My poor mom is going to be 62 nxt month, she has already endured 2 surgerys in the pst 4 yrs for her heart. She lives with a pace maker difibulator; and now this? Its just not fair....

    Lupe, you are exactly right, life is NOT fair!! Thank goodness that it is 2010 though and the treatments available now are tolerable. I'm also sending a huge hug to you and your mom. Let us know if there is anything we can do. Take care.

    Thanks, my mom has lost a lot of weight, she is small to begin with, shes about 4feet 10 and now she weighs about 98 lbs. Prayers would be great, lots of them. She will need it if she has to start chemo. We dont know yet till her appt with my oncologist.

    Dear Lupe, I know this is devastating news for you and your family. As someone said, thank goodness it is 2010, as treatment for all kinds of cancer has improved dramatically over the years. There is always hope where there is life, and I really believe that you will find that treatment will give her lots of years to enjoy you and the rest of her family. Prayers and thoughts are coming your way, and I will continue to keep you guys in my daily thoughts. Hang in there, Lupe, as you have already endured a lot, and I know your Mom is also having a hard time.     Lupe I am so sorry, just doesnt seem right. Your own journey can help her navigate hers. not much consolation. I hope that it is a good prognosis and she fares well. let us know how she is. you and Heatherbelle got the double whammy.
