been there, done that...
I just went through a horrific depression. Two days of sobbing. I was suicidal. I went to doctor and went on anti-depressants. It takes 1-2 weeks to kick in. After 2 weeks, not as bad but still not great. Called doc and she upped it by 37.5 mg. Feeling better finally. Not great, but no where as severe as I was. Six weeks later, I am now better able to manage life.
This group of survivors was my lifeline through the whole ordeal. Thank you, ladies
Know that you are not alone. It hits all of us differently. We're here for you. Please let us know how we can help.
Prayers and hugs,

I would also like to
I would also like to recommend getting on an anti-depressant, they to take a week or so to kick in, but you could also get an anti anxiety like xanax that work within minutes to take the edge off. I was on them before my diagnosis & I'm sure they helped prevent me from going into a deep depression. Tell us what's going on - when I have the really bad moments I post on here & get my mojo back from all our sisters on here. We lean on each other
*hugs*

It has been quite awhile since I posted and I am sorry but that is all I could say last night. I have my 1-year (since DX) checkup/mammo coming up on Sept. 15 and I am definitely going to talk to my Onc. about this. I need to talk to some psychologist or something! Thanks for writing (everyone) and I will be ok - just needed to say that one line on here and get some sympathy I guess...0 -

I experienced a very deep depression after primary treatment ended. Some things that helped me were meditation tapes, relaxation tapes, yoga and...........TIME. I also started anti-depressants and it really took a while to find the right one for me. In the beginning, I took xanax and klonopin to take the edge off. You definitely have my sympathy...I think depression was/is the hardest part of this whole ordeal for some of us. Here is a big hug to you. Just know that it WILL get better. Hang in there, Tracy. xoxoxoxo Lynn0 -

The more you talk, the better you feel, AND, if that doesn't help, please get something to take the edge of depression. There are alot of ladies that become more and more depressed after their treatments end. At least you are recognizing the fact that something is wrong.
Do come back and talk to us, and then to your onc. Don't wait for the day of your appointment--that's two weeks away! Call sooner and tell his nurse what you are going through. They can at least start you on something.

Hey Blazy
Glad you posted. Depression happens to a lot of us. There are a lot of medications that are not addictive so get help from your dr. When you're ready tell us your story. We are great listeners and I feel it does help to talk about what you're going through. I've found so much encouragement from the wonderful bc sisters. Hope you do too! {{hugs}}

BT glad to see you again sorry you are feeling down. It is pretty common and perfectly natural. I started an antidepressant right away. this being my second primary, I said if I ever get it again, going right on it. So when I got diagnosed I said "write the script". fortunately or unfortunately I know what I would need from experience. Its also hard with your impending appointments. I find those are really dificult times when I am especially foucused on the disease and also anniversaries . Even when I dont realize its my cancerversary my subconcious remembers. One year I said to my friend "wow this PMS is brutal this month" and she said "dont you remember what month it is?" I was like duh??? any of this going on? As I recall you had other health problems as well. are these affecting you? anyway glad to see your face, HUGs !!!0 -

It was mentioned earlier this month -
Post Traumatic Stress. If you stop and think about it, it makes perfect sense. And depression is hard to escape with this dx, for some it's minor, for others, overwhelming. I'm glad that you know it's a problem and that you plan to see the Dr.
Keep posting!
Many good wishes and big hugs!
