Lymphedema is not for sissy's!!meena1 said:Thank you, lynn for the info
Thank you, lynn for the info on Lymphedema. I really kept hoping that I would not get lymphedema. The lymphedema specialist is on vacation is on vacation, he will be back next week. I am going to wait for him to get back since I know that this is a very good Physical Therapy group and I want to got there. It seems that everyone is on vacation, I know not to get sick in the summer!!
I had a lumpectomy and axillary dissection in Dec. of 09. After all of that and during my Chemo I felt swelling in my hand, arm and armpit. My oncologist took the "wait and see" tactic until I pressed for answers. She referred me to the Physical Therapist who taught me how to do the massage, and fitted my sleeve. I was bandaged for two weeks, then the sleeve to wear every day. I am now able to wear the sleeve only when I do strenuous exercise or it's really hot. Also if I fly on an airplane because of the pressurization. It's a real pain in the **** but it really helped me and I'm thankful I have a wonderful physical therapist. I do the massage every day. Hope this helps and I am keeping you in my prayers as to the outcome of your liver issues.0
