of hair growth .. still fighting every impluse to go and have my hair cut. Eye brows and lashes .. taking their time coming in. I want to complain, but then I remember my 6 plus months of baldness. Hard to imagine myself bald .. Honestly!

having to wear a hat, scarf or something on your head. Been there, done that... but just think .. you are almost to the point ... of going naked. Protect your scalp from sunburn .. Yep, been there, done that too.
Almost there.

Hey Laurissa
Glad to hear your hair is coming back. Yay!!!! I had my first chemo treatment four weeks ago tomorrow. Starting losing my hair after day 17. Got it cut really short last week. Couldn't bring myself to buzz it yet. While it is still coming out, I have no bald spots.....yet. I admire all of you ladies that actually buzzed or shaved your heads. I guess I'm just a big baby. Having a harder time about losing my hair than I did my boob!!!! Hugs :>) Jean0 -
Yay!!!
Doesn't it feel freeing to not have to wear something on your head all the time?
I've been toying with the idea of getting mine trimmed, but it seems to be growing so slowly that I just can't bear to lose any bit of it yet!0 -
AWESOME GIRLS...
Whoo hoo! Hope the hair is coming in fun and crazy! I have had straight, thin hair all my life. After chemo it came in thick and really wavy! The wavys have died down a little, but still have some! Nice payoff for all the crap to put up with! LOL. Go buy some fun BIG earrings!

Hi Laurissa.Gee have we come a long way girl.My hair is so thick now.I have a hard time getting it dry.Not complaining really. It is such a good feeling going out wearing your own hair.I am glad for you.Take Care.xxoo Ppurin.
and it is slowly getting fuller and thicker but it never happens as fast as you want it to. My peach fuzz never came out so the ends of my hair are thin but the 1/2 inch closer to the roots is thicker. I am not cutting anything off my head until I have about 3 inches.

Sparkle, sorry you're going through the hairloss now. Its rough. I'm still drawing brows on and dabbing mascara to fill in the empty spots.
Glad your hair is coming in. Its so nice not to have to wear a hat. Mine seems to grow slow. Have about 2 1/2 on top, but only like an inch for bangs and I have been done with Chemo in November. Like i said soooo slow.0 -

My last chemo was july 8th and my hair had started growing very slowly wanted to know if anyone uses a certain shampoo to help their hair growth. My hair never did go bald but i did shave it after first chemo (march 4th) because after 14 days clumps fell, so I had my daughters shave my head. I am so ready to get rid of the head wraps but am not brave enough and don't have enough hair on top of my head to go without the wraps. My hair is growing back salt and pepper, i had colored my hair since i was 18 and now at 47 my true hair color shows lol..can i color my hair? Also i still get people asking me why am i wearing a wrap?? I can just see when I stop wearing the wraps and they see my hair growth or lack of hair what they will say "what have you done to your hair!! LOL
Thanks for listening and any advice is appreciated0 -

My last chemo was May 18 and my hair really just started growing back in earnest. My eyebrows are now starting to grow back as well. Come on eyelashes!
I haven't heard anything about particular shampoos - sorry.
I know what you mean about the head wraps. I go without around the house, but wear them out everywhere. Pretty soon, I'll go without, but I still feel pretty bald.
And the hair coloring thing made me laugh. I started highlighting about 7 years ago and have pretty much hidden the gray from everyone, including myself. Our family joke is that until it really comes in, it's blonde!
I do think that I won't color any more. What the heck. If I'm salt and pepper, then that's what color I'll be. We'll see if this lasts...
Hope this helps.0 -
Yay! You girls all rock! I
Yay! You girls all rock! I am so excited to hear that your hair is starting to come back in...it is inspirational for me as I took my last chemo a week ago. I wake up every morning, take off my cap, and hope for growth, lol. I know it won't happen that quick but I keep looking! I had extremely thick and wavy hair before chemo and am hoping it comes in a little straighter...a girl can wish.
Hope everyone is staying cool in this heat!! XXXX OOO0 -

Laurissa, so happy you're so close to being able to trim your new growth. I can't wait, my head is completely covered but only about 1 inch long.
Scorpio, I started coloring my hair at 18,Im 42, did not even remember what my real color was anymore, and now I have a bunch of grays, Yikes! I've done a little research on when I can start coloring my hair again, so far I read we should start with a wash out coloring and not a permanent hair dye.
As soon as my hair is a little longer, I told my girls I'm coloring the tips of my hair Pink. Like the singer "Pink" once had. My girls got a kick out it and cant wait.

Good for you!
What a great feeling! I hope you are enjoying your new hair! I think losing the brows and lashes was harder on me than losing the hair! They fell out twice. I went without a hat or scarf in public for the first time on Christmas! My final chemo was in September. I always felt embarassed at how short it was and felt like I needed people to know why it was so short...Now its about 3 inches long and very curly. I have not had it trimmed but I have been coloring it since it came back salt and pepper-after I have had blond hair all my life! I still feel very self concious sometimes because it really has no shape or style, it goes where it wants to go!0 -

My hair is making a comeback too. I finished chemo May 7 and is growing and everyone can see it now. I think for weeks I would ask the kids if they could see my hair growing and they would look at me like I was seeing things. Now they're rubbing my head! I take a pic every Friday to document the growth which I started about 2 weeks ago at 10 wks. I don't wear anything around the house and out in the yard. So happy for all of us with our hair growing back!
