Way to go Lorrie that is awesome! I can't wait to be like you! Kathie
Girl you've got more courage than me, I'm not bald yet but I will be within the next 2 weeks, I don't think I can even go walking around my own house, no way could I go out in public. I have bought about 8 hats already. I might even cover up all the mirrors, it's really going to be hard for me to make this adjustment. Good job Lorrie!!

BOLD and BALD, I like that.
Hair is the least of our concerns.

Good for you!!! I also
Good for you!!! I also ditched the scarf when we had a hot spell and I was working out. The scarf on my head got wet and soggy, it was miserable having it on my head so I took it off during the class. Just never bothered to put it back on and am have given up feeling concerned about how I look. I finished AC and moved on to Taxol and Herceptin which don't make me feel as depressed as the AC did so it is much easier not to feel concerned.0 -
You GO, girl!!!!
I'm so proud of you!!!
When I went thru treatment, over 5 years ago, no one 'went naked' without many stares...
I wore a wig for 30 minutes...I HATED it!!!!! So, scarves, hats, and, yes...naked was the theme for me. The best surprise was that people would approach and either tell their survival stories, or ask me advice on how to help a friend thick in the fight...

Yes it is very freeingMGNS said:I'm so proud of you! Isn't
I'm so proud of you! Isn't it a great feeling to be free of the wig?! Each day gets better
I never thought I could do it but again I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. As I said, I am not totally bald...I have some very fine white hairs poking up about 1/8 of an inch or so and it is very sparse around the top of my head so my scalp is still very visible. I look like an old man, but I just simply got tired of wearing the scarf and with 95 degree temperatures..well...that just sent me over the edge and I just..as many of you have said...did not care what anyone else thought. I did put some earings on so no one could mistake that I am a woman, but why should I be miserable because I am worrying about being stared at?? I realized how crazy it was. A month ago when I was totally bald, I never could have done it but as long as something is sprouting up there, I figured it is ok. It takes a while to get there, but you newbies WILL get there...believe me. If I can do it, you can too! God bless.

Lorrie, I'm proud of you! You've come a long way, baby! I don't think I'm imagining it but I think that people have been more open to me and more vulnerable as I sport my super short "do." I don't know if it's because my whole face is exposed or what but I just get much more positive vibes from people. Yesterday when I was wearing my "SURVIVOR" shirt from Relay for Life and my short "do" at the restaurant, I got so many "knowing" looks from other patrons. And a lot of "good mornings" from people. This experience seems to open up doors of opportunity all over the place - to be a witness to the joy that is within us - and to touch the lives of others with what we have learned about ourselves in the journey.
Much love to all,

Congrats!!!
I think that every thing we go through and have been through we deserve the right to show our baldness. We have earned it. I had thick, blond hair almost to my waist when I was diagnosed and I to did not think I could handle seeing myself with no hair. It wasn't about vanity, I was just frightened of what I would look like. I thought I would look freakish because I have a small head. Well, my attitude changed. Its nice not to have hair with the summer temps being so hot. I pray for my pink sisters who are struggling with this. But hold your head up and wear it with pride.0 -
