Little bit of a fun poll...been daydreaming lately in my spare time!
Since going through this cancer experience with Mom and meeting all of you, I now tend to spend alot of time online...whether researching cancer treatments, hospitals, or anything OVCA related...I also now spend alot of time on tripadvisor.com dreaming of tropical places that I would like to go...it seems to help me relax and take my mind off the stressful stuff.
So, if you can get on a plane right now and go anywhere...where would it be and why? Where is you favorite vacation place?

The outer banks of NorthJoanC said:MAUI
I would be on Kaanapali Beach in beautiful Maui! The weather is warm and the flowers in Maui smell wonderful. I would be dining on fresh fruit and Mahi Mahi.....and a beer!
The outer banks of North Carolina. A cottage right on the beach with not many others around. (away from the commercial properties of Kitty Hawk and the likes).

Tomorrow I go to wonderful Manhattan for a day and one night and then cruise down to Bermuda and spend three days there and then two days back at sea. I'm looking forward to it. The other cruise this year is to Alaska in August! If I could go anywhere in the world? Italy! Oh, and Greece!

I hope you have good weather. I went to Bermuda in May and the water wasn't too warm. I wish I would have waited another month or so.0 -
The Maldives
I would go to the Maldives with my special someone, my soul mate:). They have water bungalows that go out into the sea. You can easily go skinny dipping because it is so private and peaceful. Mind you I'd have to lose 28 pounds first!!!!!!! But this is my dream place

Leesag,
Going in June to the Outer Beaches, NC! Jerry and I will be going with all four of our children, daugher in law, 3 grandkids. Son in law cannot make it b/c of military duties and step granddaughter (4 years old) will be with her mother.
We love that area as it is less commercial.
Last time we went with Jerry's sister and family and ours too. I was bald that trip, but wore my cap in the water (had to watch that sun)!

I'd join Rock Chick
I'd head off to Maryland along with Rock Chick... she could visit her Grandma and I'd go to see my (soon to be 4)grandbaby, Maddy. After some gathering up some big hugs and playing dollies, I'd head off to Antiqua and do some snorkeling.

Bryce Canyon & Monument Valley in Utah!unknown said:This comment has been removed by the Moderator
Just before my cancer was confirmed, while I was awaiting the results of my D&C, my husband and I flew to Utah and hiked Zion national Park and Bryce Canyon and flew a 4-seater plane over Monument Valley. There's a new wonderful lodge called 'The View' owned by the Navaho tribe in Monument Valley (which you can only legally hike with a Navaho guide) and I would LOVE to go there. I am not currently physically fit enough for that type of hiking vacation, but that'd be my dream vacation, to be that strong again and hike under that endless blue sky.
Instead I am taking a cruise out of NJ to St Thomas, St Martaan, and Puerto Rico in late May: a vacation that won't involve having to fly since I don't want to start a vacation with my lymphodema acting up. That will still be WON-DER-FUL, even though I will still be bald for it! During my 1st remission we flew to Greece, Italy, & Turkey. I'd love to spend more time in Turkey if I am ever able to make a flight that long again (11 hours in the air!) Over the 4th of July my whole family is spending a week at the beach at Fenwick Island Delaware, a family tradition.0 -

Beautiful Sunsets, warm ocean breezes, lots of wildlife...ahh the place to be.
My daughter and I are planning a high school graduation trip next summer before she goes to college. She can pick anywhere (within reason) for a weeks time we will have together. I wonder where we will end up...She is talking Alaska, California who knows..0 -
Europe!
I'd go to Paris again in a heartbeat, and given time, would tour some wine country in France, then top it off with another visit to northern Italy. There is so much history and art to be explored, and public transportation is much easier than it is in the states.

I'm with Joan...
Give me Maui; Black Rock to be specific.
During my meditation/visualiztion CD, I picture myself floating with my snorkel gear at Black Rock. That big turtle is there, swimming just beneath me. There's nothing else like it.
...and I get there via cruise ship! An awesome deal right now on Princess Cruises from L.A. to Hawaii, round-trip on December 8th. Hope I'm still NED and can make it! For now it's reserved!!! It stops at 4 islands.
I like nothing better than hanging out on my balcony watching the water & sky go by. It's so tranquil and spiritual to me. I like being there and talking to God and thanking him for every minute. So I guess it really doesn't matter where the ship goes, as long as I'm on it! Next month it's Alaska!!
~Susan xoxo and yes, Mai-Tai's :-) and banana dacquiri's. mmmmmmm......
Thank you, Minky, for a WONDERFUL topic!!! You got us all dreaming & smiling~0 -

We live in Matthews, NC and are able to make it to the NC coast to visit our kids - beautiful and relaxing for sure.
Never been, but I'd love to see Maui for food, flowers and drinks, cruise to Alaska and watch nature and then off to Australia/New Zeland and the Great Barrier Reef for fun. My hubby starts chemo in 3 weeks for advanced prostate cancer, but after that...who knows? Think we both want to do the Alaska cruise. This is a great topic, feeling a little overwhelmed today with this recent news so a big thank you Minky for some real stress relief! Ellen0
