Side Effect: Loss of Circulation in the Hip Joints
How have you treated it?
I discovered this back in '93 and my doctor blamed the Predisone. Both of my femur ball joints are affected and my pelvis has tilted to relieve the weight pressure, which causes me to gimp. Swimming and stretching are very helpful but my flexibility is nearly zip due to my muscles tightening to protect the jonts.
Thinking about seeing a Chiropractor to straighten my spine some.?

Update
Well, I started the chiro and am 4 weeks along. I have to recommend this because its working and I thought it was just a long shot.
Its painless, drug free and has allowed me to take longer walks without the back pain. I'm use to hiking periodically, while taking it easy in my day-to-day routine. My walks were shortening to only a few blocks because the back pain was so bad. My spine does have a S curve, which explains my neck and lower back pain.
I'm back to walking a mile, and hope to be back to my long hikes on our next vacation.0 -

Glad to hear the chiro is helping. I've been thru chemo and radiation last year ended July '09 and did okay but December started with lower hip and back issues. After being on prednisone for poision ivy, and back felt great and I had huge energy increase, doc told me yep it's arthritis. So...I continued my running and other activities as did during prednison times and I started to feel more pain. Recently stopped the running and started back with chiro and doing much better.
Still am not 100%, but not hobbling around either. I can handle the diagnosis of arthritis as the "cancer" would be another thing to add on.
I find with anything if we move we're better (even if have pain) vs. just being a couch potato. Bodies are meant to move, not sit!!!

I totally agree with you. Keep movin!
The more we push ourselves, the better we are in the long run.
Glad to hear you're past the chemo and continuing your activity some. My mother still nags me about having my bedroom on the second floor. "You have to climb all those stairs!" she says. I've lived most of my life in a ranch home and finally own a 2-story. I enjoy the peacfulness of the second floor and cherish the exercise from those stairs.
Sometimes I'll group my trips upstairs so I'm not climbing them 20 times a day. Then, I know I'm not overdoing it and holding on to that handrail (just in case). If she only new that sometimes I do stairs for 10 mins. of exercise.
Its all good baby!0
