Thinking of all of you..

I see members moving on in their new life after the beast, new members just starting on this journey, those putting one foot in front of the other to make it through their treatments, those coming so close to finishing theirs, and the wisdom, comfort and compassion from those who have already made it through to the other side.
Over the last week, a picture of this site has been painted in my mind. It is a large, I wouldn’t call it a tapestry, but rather a beautiful blanket with beautiful colors of every shade, and each and every one of you weaved into the fabric, it’s strong, it’s durable, and it is comforting.
It’s like the one you pull out and wrap around yourself as you watch a violent storm pass overhead to calm your anxiety. The one you wrap up in on the couch to watch a good comedy that brings you laughter. The one that you toss over yourself when you’re sitting on the porch feeling lonely or just contemplating life’s journey beneath the clear starry night, and the one that you snuggle into to ward off as the sharp chill of winter in front of a roaring fire to bring you warmth.
As seasons begin to change and winter gives way to the new budding life of spring, you may not need that blanket as often, but you still know that it is there, and the sheer knowledge that you need only to pull it out again when you want to, when you need to, brings a quiet comfort. It is always there, to give you what you need.
Thank you all for being my “blanket”… and for being that blanket for each other. Whether you are a new member, or an old pro… or even somewhere in between, you are all part of the fabric that beautifully weaved together, brings peace, laughter, comfort, and a bond that goes beyond what words can convey.
♥ with sincerest hugs,
~T

How lovely! How eloquent!
How lovely! How eloquent! What a beautiful word picture you painted for us~ thank you so much. It is nice to step back from posting now and again and just read, isn't it? The perspective is different, somehow.
I agree with all you wrote; though I also think Tapestry is applicable. The interwoven threads, the colors and the pictures depicted on them are fitting descriptions of our world since diagnosis. A tapestry is very different from a blanket, of course~ I envision a tapestry being hung on a wall, a vision of former times..whereas a blanket, as you so wisely said, envelopes us with warmth, comfort and safety. And I love how you say we won't always need to be wrapped in the blanket as the "seasons" of our life story changes.
We are so honored to be surrounded by love, kindness and deep thought here on these boards, aren't we? Thank you for opening your heart to us, and sharing it with us, your true Kindred Spirits.
Hugs,

You all have made my life complete being here and allowing me to share and vent and even make stupid comments. I truely would be so lost without you all. Great, now im crying!!! HAHA
