Can you tell me what it was about a little Lynn? We like action movies.

Two hit man are sent "on holiday" to the tourist town of Bruges (where it rains and rains and rains) while they wait for instructions from their boss. One of hit men is played by Colin Farrell. It is a black comedy/thriller and the dialogue is very fun.0 -
Has to be action or highAkiss4me said:I want to see
I want to see Marley And Me. I really like Jennifer Aniston and my hubby actually likes when I pick out chick flicks over his action movies. Although I did get into the Transformer movie. I just have to stay awake long enough to enjoy it! ♥ Pammy
Has to be action or high drama for us. Glad you enjoyed it Lynn!

I did like Marley and Me. We actually have a huge yellow lab, which we totally and irrevocably love, so I completely commiserate with the author. Lynn0 -

Lots of action in that one. I'm not sure if I liked it or not....The message was very clear and it was a good one, but there is a high gross out factor. Lynn0 -

I loved Marley&Me! We saw it the day after Christmas last year. The author actually lives in the town next to me.0 -

We just rented off tv "Gran Torino" Love Clint Eastwood. It was a great movie. I heard it may be his last one he made.!! Diane
Lynn, I would recommend Julie and Julia....it is a good wholesome movie, and really has a good story line. After seeing it, I have wondered if it is a true story, but haven't been able to verify. Anyway, highly recommend it to everyone. Hugs,

Love movies!
I've been wanting to see "In Bruges," Lynn. Also "Julie and Julia." I believe it is a true story, based on a blog, and than a novel written by the "Julie" in the title. I LOVE to cook and have an extensive cookbook collection, so this is right up my ally. Anyway, my most recent movie at the theater was "Inglorious Basterds." Very engrossing, but EXTREMELY violent. I had to close my eyes during over 40% of the film, but still loved it. Tarantino really knows how to hold a scene. My most recent Netflix movie was Roman Polanski's "Tess." Very good, but depressing as hell! Beautiful cinematography. My most recent iphone movie was "The International" with Clive Owen and Naomi Watts. Good action movie for the bus commute to and from work. Love to hear what everyone else is watching!

I love Movies also
I just watched "an unfinished life" with Jennifer Lopez, and Robert Redford, and I absolutely loved it. Also I got "Home" on Caleen's recomendation and it was a good and inspirational movie about a woman/mother with BC.
I am ordering "In Bruges from Netflix next on your recomndation Lynn, and Julie and Julia isn't out yet for Netflix so I saved it. We don't have a Movie Theatre in my town.. so I get alot of Netflix and love going to the theatres when I'm out of town.
Anyone else with recomendations? Jackie0 -

"Inglorious Basterds!" I think Tarantino is a genius, but I agree that his movies are hard to watch. He was recently interviewed by Terri Gross of Fresh Air on NPR. If you missed it, you can get the podcast.
Last Saturday night we were down in Boise to see Twelfth Night and we got rained out for the second time... And it was the last performance :{ . So my daughters and I went to the nearest Edwards Cinema and took our pick. Both "Inglorious Basterds" AND "Julie and Julia" were showing, but we would have had to wait an hour to see either and, as it was, we didn't get home until 2 in the morning. This was a real disappointment because movie theaters are at minimum a 1 1/2 hour drive away.
I remember seeing "Tess" a loooooong time ago and the outdoor scenes (greenery) still stick in my mind. We have "Powwow Highway" and "Lost Horizons" at home to watch now. My kids haven't ever seen "Lost Horizons," a movie I would cut school to stay home and watch when I was a kid.
I just watched "Cleo from 5-7" which is a '62 French film about a woman who has stomach(?) cancer. I thought it was a good character study.
Something fun to watch are the old Busby Berkeley films. We watched "Gold Diggers of 1933" a couple of weeks ago - even my 14 year-old son liked it. Or maybe he was just being nice.

Talk about how humans grow and change. I love Clint Eastwood, too. Thanks for the recommendation. I just added it to my queue. A '72 Gran Torino was my second "in my life" car! Terrible blind spots. Lynn0 -

Jackie, I hope you enjoy "In Bruges." Let me know what you think. I am checking out "An Unfinished Life" and "Home" as soon as I finish typing this. Lynn0 -

I absolutely love "In Bruges", I think Colin Farrell is terrific in it. Another underated movie is "The Legend of 1900", it is by the director of "Cinema Paradiso". Surf0 -

I love Tarentino and how he always has a cameo in all his movies. "Inglorious Basterds" is next on our list. My favorite of course was "Pulp Fiction". I just need to stay awake long enough to actually "see" the movie!! LOL ♥ Pammy0
