In the hospital

Oh Eric
I'm so sorry. Well, first let me say I'm so happy you recognized the signs and got to the ER ASAP. My mom is Stage IV and I have warned her and written down the signs/symptoms for her. Hopefully she'll recognize them if it happens. That being said, as a nurse myself, I would recommend not harassing them, as someone said earlier they are the ones with the needles and the control over how quickly and well you get served with whatever you may need. That being said, with your sense of humor you could probably get away with anything. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I'm heading out to church shortly and will mention you in the prayer request. It never hurts to have another prayer. Hope that clot dissolves quickly. Hope you can avoid the coumadin/warfarin if possible. Lovenox/Heparin better choices I think. Happy thoughts for your quick release. What a crappy way to spend the weekend!

Hi Eric,
Sorry to hear it- here's hoping you'll be better and out again soon!
You take care-
Lisa
Thanks for all the support. I just got a call from Craig. He is about 20 miles from me and is coming to visit. So, I will be meeting the illustrious Craig in person. Too bad it`s in a hospital room. He can update you on the man behind the crazy texts. This group may never have anything to do with me again.

Eric,
I can sympathize with you cause I just got out of the hospital on Thursday....Now we can look like twin drug users with all the needle marks and black and blues...Hang in there. Have a good time with Craig visiting you..Remember now you have ammo on him too...Which I can't wait for both of you to share with us... JULIE0 -

Make sure you get up and out of bed and walk as soon as possible, clear it with your Doc's first - but they should get you up once they have you no the blood thinner for a day or so. Reduces the risk of propagation of the clot or new clot development. And no, you do not want a PE, no matter what.
Am sure you'll do fine - keep the positive attitude.

Hello there
Hi Eric:
Saw your posting and thought I would say hi. From reading your message, I see that we have the same type of cancer with liver involvement. I've never had a blood clot, but they thought I did in the beginning. I have been living with cancer for about 2 and a half years. It sounds like you are in good spirits and dealing with this in a positive way. I think maintaining as good an attitude as possible helps a lot. BTW, I'm over in Louisiana, not too far away from you. I asked my doc about going to Baylor in Dallas for some trials. We'll see what works out. Wishing the best for you man. Take care, Roy.0 -

Craig is a freak. I am never text messaging or talking to him again. I`m kidding. Craig is as good a guy as he seems to be. I enjoyed the visit and hopefully there will be more. One of these days we may be able to go out like normal people and not meet at a hospital.

I hope all is going well. Baylor is a great hospital. I think that would be great if it works out. I`m sorry you have been battling this beast for that length of time but I am glad you have managed to keep it at bay thus far. This is a great site for support and inspiration. Welcome to the group.

Eric,
Sooo, they let you out! Great! None of my nurses beat me, but I still have the "holes" left by a thousand needles from last March. Very glad that you are sprung and feeling better. Yeah, I hear ya. Meeting normal people is a kick once ina while. Not that I'm anywhere close to being normal myself!
Good news on your release! Keep up the thumb and the attitude!

I`m sorry - Last post misleading. I am not out of the hospital. I was kidding. I`m out meant I am done with these cancer posts but it was a joke.

Oh Eric! Get some much needed rest...although I hate when folks say that to me because who can rest in a hospital?? Anyway, feel better soon so you can go home and get some rest!!
-Sheri
...I hate to hear you're in the hospital Eric, not a fun place to be with the poking and prodding, one place you can't get rest in, is the hospital! the nurses are there every hour doing something to you, but I hope you do try to get squeeze in some shut eye, without them waking you up all the time to check this or that.
I hope you feel better, and hope you get home soon!
Hugsss!
