I wanted to keep you all up on my apt. with the Oncologist today. I had such hopes of her telling me Ned was with me. Instead I heard that she is worried about me. My red blood cells are large? I don't know what that means. also I am very anemic..which she thought would subside after chemo was finished. and didn't. I cried. She has made an apt. with a breast specialist in Billings for me , she says world renowned, she wants me to know they are keeping the closest watch on me. Thank God. but i am so sad. I thought i was doing good. They will call tomorrow with results of the blood test. and my apt. is Aug. 6th. I can use all the angels and prayers i can get right now. thank you all and i love you.

    My dear friend Jackie
I don't know what red blood cells being large means either. But, lots of us get anemic. That can be taken care of.

The good thing Jackie is that you are going to see a breast specialist in Billings...THE BEST! I know this is upsetting, I would be too. But, try and think positive. And, please post if and when you can about your blood tests.

I will send you every Angel that I can round up to watch over and protect you! I will put you in my prayers and add you to our prayer list at church.

You have always been there for me and so many others Jackie. Please try to think positive and know that I and many others are sending those Angels to protect and help you!

    Love you,

    Jeanne

    I don't know either Jeanne
They did call me a bit ago and said it wasn't thyroid? but will call again tomorrow. I am sooo scared. I wouldn't have been but she said she was worried alot about it, and it was her job to keep a close watch on me. as she was talking I only heard parts, while she was handing me kleenex. I usualy am strong, but i was expecting good news and the wind just went out of my sails.
Thanks Jeanne for always being such a sweetheart. I certainly am so thankful for all of your prayers and for your friendship. Your sweet spirit just shines through, for all to see. I love you girlfrind! The angels ARE coming.
    lots of love, jackie

    Dear friend, Jackie...
Oh, my dear friend, Jackie. So, so sorry your visit didn't go as you had anticipated. Believe me, I know exactly how and what you're feeling right now. I've had very high hopes for several onc appointments, at key points over the years; and, unfortunately, each time came home disappointed and thrown into a funk. It is frightening to hear our doctors speak of their "concerns"...

I have no idea what "large" red blood cells might indicate. What I do know is that chemo-induced anemia is very common, and can last for quite some time. Maybe even permanently. A condition easily managed with good diet and eating habits, and supplements. This is what I'll hope for, for you.

However, I am very reassured to know that your own onc has referred you to a highly-regarded specialist. While also knowing that you're probably not looking forward to traveling back and forth to Billings, once again; and, besides the reason for it. Seems like you just got home for good, just finished rads. It is much, much better to be "watched closely" than not. Please try to find some comfort in that, although it's difficult at this moment.

We are ALL your angels - and will summon others to watch closely over you.

With heartfelt hopes your way, always, and...

    Kind regards, Susan

    My dear Susan
I am feeling better after hearing from you. Maybeit can be helped with supplements and dietary nutrition. Goll. I hope so. I am glad they are watching me closely. I guess I just got my hopes up to much, and expected to much to soon. I know I have been tired, but instead of resting i have been trying to over-do again, I think it takes a little longer to get through this than i expected.
I do know you are an angel to me, and along with all my other sis
s here I can't go wrong. That is why I am calling out all angels.
    I love you, Jackie

I am not a physician, but
Massive googling suggests that large red blood cells and decreased white blood cells tend to indicate megaloblastic anemia. Another possibility is pernicious anemia, which is no picnic but not nearly as bad as it sounds. Either (as Susan well points out) can be caused by chemo. It can be treated with massive doses of Vitamin B12.

Bottom line is: NED is still with you, babe. It's good to know your docs are sparing no effort to take care of you, because the Moop and I both love you dearly.
