Rad burns
On a happier note i had a blast with my Jamie last week and a barbeque with all my kids and granddaughters. I was burning then but they all pitched in and we had such a good time. Now i am alone again in the motel and it is getting depressing. It hurts to even walk. They say the boosters will be in a different area..along the scar which is burned too but at least not open and raw. I am just amazed as was my daughter and husband, that they are continuing. I think i will have the party of all parties when i am done!!
I hope you are all doing good. I am going to be catching up and reading all you messages. My computer at home is still down. so i missed you all so much.
Love and gentle gentle gentle....hugs,
Jackie

I am so sorry you are going through this. I had exactly the same........It goes quickly after treatment ends.......it really does.
Hang in there Sis......You are doing fine. Hugs jxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Jackie....
I am truly sorry to hear about your rad side effects. It just doesn't seem fair that anyone should have to go through it. Hang in there. If it were me, I know I would be screaming like a baby begging them to stop! You are so brave for pushing forward and a huge encouragement to me since I haven't started my rads yet. I hope the rest goes guickly for you and then you have a speedy recovery. Pammy0 -

So sorry about the
Jackie
So sorry about the severe burning. I considered myself lucky that I didn't have much at all with the breast radiation. I hope that it clears up quickly for you.

Talked to your doc and see about getting some silvadene. I finished in April and if youcheck my expressions page, I posted pictures of my burn. It's lousy but it heals fairly easily.

Ouch Jackie
So sorry about the burns. How many boosters do you have? I burnt next to my collarbone, but, once I started the boosters, it started healing. So, you will start healing where you are getting rads now, if it isn't the site for the boosters. I am surprised they are continuing. I saw 2 women burnt bad when I took my rads. They stopped both of them for a week to let them heal. Then, the one went only 3 days a week, which is what they have to have, so they say, to work. The other healed halfway with that time off, started again, and, finished fine. I used the Biafine for the burn and Aquaphor at night to keep it moist and soft and greasy. The biggest problem for me wasn't the burn, it was that darn radiation dermatitis. Those red itchy bumps...grrrrrrrr They drove me nuts! I will certainly pray that you heal soon Jackie. I am so sorry.
Glad you had a wonderful time with Jamie and your family! You deserved it!
Love, Jeanne
p.s. Oh, I don't want to discourage you, but, I will say this again. Be sure and still use your cremes AFTER you finish rads. You are still cooking!0 -
Party of all Parties
You sure deserve an unforgettable part,y Jackie. I am so sorry you are having such pain. Everyone wrote that the skin heals fast, and I will be wishing and praying that for you, too.
Glad you and Jamie had a great mother/daughter week. She is so pretty; I love the new photo of you two.0 -

Greetings, dear Jackie!
Always so good to see you here! Am so very sorry for your burns, and the pain - yes, OUCH! (I'm wincing!) My hat's off to you, though, for being such a trooper.
Glad you enjoyed your time with Jamie - knew you would! :-)
We miss you, too, when you're not here. Know that you're not alone, there in Billings. We're with you, Jackie, via this board.
Take care, take real good care... Can see the finish line, up ahead, not far...
Kind regards, Susan
P.S.: Love the new photo of you and Jamie!0 -

Ouch Jackie I am sorry that you are burnt. Can't they stop them for awhile? I burnt, but, nothing like what you are going thru. I just used Biafine on the burn. It helped, but, it still hurt until I was finally all done. I have heard that some used My Girls Radiation creme and silver sulfadiazine creme. Might ask your doctor about them. You will be done soon. Hang in there!0 -

yes your posts always have helpful rad tips which i use faithfully. You are also always so sweet.
I saw the Dr today and they gave me gauze pads and bottles of saline to use. It feels really soothing, then i leave it dry open to the air..then the silvadene (3x's a day) this with pain pills. I only have 5 boosters left!! yeah!
I hope you have a really good weekend Jeanne and thanks!

Unconditionally. For sure. :-)
Besides, please remember who you're amongst when you're here...
None of US care about who's bald, with peach fuzz, or with porcupine hair, hedgehog hair, etc. Doesn't matter, at all. Not here.
Kind regards, Susan0
