Roll Call: Weekend plans!
Well, I am hoping to have a somewhat quiet weekend this time. The hubby has been away on business all week and he's coming home tonight. So, we'll probably have dinner somewhere and just relax. Tomorrow I'll have my personal training appointment (haven't been to the gym all week. Yikes), and then the theater for Saturday night. Sunday, I have dinner planned with a childhood friend who will be in town. Hmmm, that's not as quiet as I wanted. I have a mountain of laundry and dishes to do, and I absolutely have to organize my closet and the finances. I'm continually forgetting to pay the bills because I don't have a good system of keeping track.
I'm feeling a little down, so I definitely want to hear all your news today. So, what is everyone up to this weekend??

I'm 9 hours ahead of California....
We went to market today downtown, and bought so much fresh fruit, vegies, and flowers for the garden. This evening, we sat out on the terrace, eating fresh fruit, until the mosquitoes started eating US!!!lol!!!
Tomorrow morning, we head to north Holland to a swapmeet. It's a favorite of mine, and, weather permitting, it will be outside. Then it's back to a big party from a friend of ours who owns a dairy, and uses the milk to make ice cream!!! He promises hot air balloons in the evening (it stays light here until 11pm), and lots of music and fun!!
Sunday, we head to southwestern Holland to another swapmeet. This one is 3 times a year, and it is HUGE! There are street organs playing music, and so much stuff to see!!! Then, back home, for a quiet late afternoon and evening...hardly any stores are open on Sunday...even grocery stores are closed!!!
So, that is what is planned for the weekend.
Hugs to all of you.....Kathi0 -
I'm up to laundry and
I'm up to laundry and cooking. I don't like to cook but we gotta eat. It's hot here in the high 90's and hundreds so I'm staying cool. You might wonder how I'm doing that by doing two chores that require heat. I wonder about myself sometimes too. I'm da Momma so come here little Mimi for a big hug.0 -

Wow...it's nice to hear from you, Kathi, all the way from Holland, which sounds pretty fantastic!
As for me, no big plans other than straightening up the house, cleaning my car, and doing laundry. Xiaoxiao is spending tonight and tomorrow at a friend's house, so maybe hubby and I will go out for dinner (although our dishwasher broke this week and we may be going dishwasher shopping instead...
I'm hoping to get out a bit, maybe even down to the lake, if the weather cooperates. I've been trying to work on my upper body because I love to sea-kayak, and I'm working on getting up the courage to take my boat out on a calm day when I don't have to fight any waves. Since it's been pretty windy here lately, I haven't attempted anything (even dragging the kayak to the water, though it's not far, may still be a bit much at this point). But, hey, at least I'm thinking about it!!
Have fun, or at least relax a bit everyone!
Ladies, I love you all!

I think we might go down to our cabin at the lake this weekend, not for sure. We haven't been there yet this summer as I wasn't for sure if I wanted to since I just finished rads a lil over a month ago, and, am trying to avoid the sun. lol Although, I have been outside today with no sunscreen. YIKES! lol But, we need to go down there and check it out and see what cleaning needs to be done. YUCK! lol I may play the " I just don't feel very strong today card". lol Ok, that would be wrong, but, kind of nice. And, hubby informed me that we have a top to put up on the boat, so, I won't be in the direct sun. And, we have a beautiful back porch that overlooks the lake, so, at night you can see the reflection of the moon in it. I love it! Ok...we are going! Just made my mind up! lol
Sunday, hopefully, still at the lake and hopefully just boating some, fishing maybe and laying around.
I wish all of you a wonderful weekend doing whatever you want!0 -

Weekend......
Going to spend time with hubby at the hospital Saturday & Sunday. He is improving steadily, so hoping that he can come home sometime next week. It will be so great to have him here to talk to.
Catching up on laundry & some household chores in between. Hopefully squeeze a nap in there somewhere!

I Am working tomorrow . We were pitching a load of stuff today at work. 99c a cell pack, I couldn't stand it, I suggested I took a load home and sold them from there.......Chuck dropped Jamie off at the greenhouse at 1PM. and I loaded him up with tomato, Pepper and Onion Plants.......He priced them at $3.00 a 4 cell and sold 30$ worth before I got home........I was amazed!
Phoned Renee and told her, she said $3. a pack...? No sheet?
She turned up with the van packed full an hour later...........Sell 'em for what you like, these are going on the compost heap next week......
Wow.........Garage sale tomorrow...............LOL0 -
Manicure, pedicure and
Manicure, pedicure and clothes shopping on Saturday while hubby is out of town for the day. Dinner and a movie Saturday evening with husband. On Sunday we'll be at home doing those chores that we didn't do on Saturday. It's over 100 degrees in Texas so I'll try to beat the heat all weekend!0 -
This weekend...
First of all - Thanks, Mimi! This was your idea, and a great one. Glad you're continuing the Friday/Weekend thread.
Tomorrow, I need to catch up on over a week's worth of laundry. Our clothes washer cranked out last Friday - new one delivered and installed today, but not 'til after 7:00pm! (Two loads done after dinner.) Evening plans to be determined...
Sunday, we're taking our two nieces/both goddaughters (23 and 19 years old) for a day visit to Chicago Botanic Gardens (their idea) - including lunch at the outdoor cafe. It's stunningly beautiful - should be plenty in bloom there.
My husband, Bob, is off from work next week. A "stay-cation" for us. Monday we're planning to attend The Taste of Chicago, as we manage to always do. Great food, fun, entertainment - downtown, along the lakefront, Chicago's own front yard. We'll also walk through Millennium Park - with its ever changing outdoor art exhibits.
We always look forward to the weekends, with or without plans. Hope all enjoy!
Thanks, again, Mimi.
Kind regards, Susan0 -
Having friends out tomorrow
Having friends out tomorrow for a cookout! So, need to finish cleaning the house early tomorrow. lol Husband got the yard work done, so, his part is finished.
Sunday, may go to the lake. Have some friends that are going boating, so, we may go with them. We will see!0 -
Weekend Plans
I will have my 5 year old and 9 year old great nephews all weekend, heck all summer! What was I thinking? Dang Chemo Brain! Guess I'll be trying to talk them into taking a nap, just so I can. haha No really I will. In the mean time, the 3 of us will do some house work, gardening, and then to the pool for a reward for them. They are good kids, they put up with me after all.
happy smiles

The week-end began today (Friday)
Since I hate to go grocery shopping, I do it every 3 months. Today was that day. My hubby and I left at 4:30PM and: we went to the pet store, Walmart, and Kroger. We were gone for 6 hours. It wouldn't have been so bad if my credit card hadn't been rejected after all that grocery shopping. I was embarrassed and furious! I called the cc company and asked them what happened, since I pay it off every month, have excellent credit, ...they apologized for the inconvenience and reset my cc credit card. Nice, but I had to go back through the line and have everything rung up again, ugh! I was soooo embarrassed! I REALLY hate grocery shopping. When we arrived back home, we brought in the first load only to find a trashed house-the dogs had a hayday while we were gone! The bathroom trash was spread all over the hallway-(think the worse of what was in it). What a mess! Not to mention, I dropped the pkg of strawberries in the driveway and smashed the peaches.
Saturday: gardening and another grad party (a calmer day)
Sunday: my ex is coming over to trim trees and staying for a bbq in exchange for his services(my hubby is blind and I have no balance to climb a ladder, so I appreciate my ex's help)

First weekend away!
I'm feeling better, so Saturday afternoon we will head out of town to spend the night with friends. They live smack dab in the middle of 300 acres. It always amazes me how my husband weaves through the woods to get us there! But it is so peaceful and relaxing. Probably have a bonfire in the evening. Come home Sunday since I don't want to over do it. Pammy0 -

One, we shared the 'freeway' (snelweg...snel is fast is Dutch...it was anything but this morning) with more motorcycles that I have EVER seen in my life!!! Seems this is the weekend of the "TT" (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle races. And people from all over were headed there...both on bikes and in cars...WHEW!!! We saw plates from Belgium, France, Germany, just to name a few...
The other special thing was we saw STORKS!!!! They are a sign of good luck here in Holland. For a long time, because of pollution killing off their main food (frogs), these huge birds were very scarce in The Netherlands. We saw 10 today, just on our driving trip!!! It was so exciting!!!
Now, off to 'boodschappen' (errands) and then to the party. It's not a real clear day, I wonder if he will still have balloons...I might even try riding in one, if I can!!!
Hugs, Kathi0 -
weekend...
Today I AM celebrating! Maybe in a small way, with my surgeon appt still a few days away, but mainly relieved! Today is an event I had "gone out on a limb" for. Before my "scare" I had volunteered to "take over" planning our family reunion on my Dad's side of the family. (which certainly an added stress with the scare). However, I will be very busy today but having FUN! Tomorrow, I plan on just kicking back. YEAH! I hope everyone has an awesome weekend. For those "in waiting..." Now that I CAN relate too! Actually I can be even more supportive NOW that I am not so worried about me! Take Care,
Semper Fi,
Mike0
