PET SCAN RESULTS
Then we got to the last page and it said this:
1. There is no evidence of locally recurrent disease as athe level of the rectosigmoid anastomosis or evidence of enlarged adenopathy in the abdomen or pelvis with hypermetabolic activity to suggest metastases.
2. No new solid organ metastases or Foci of Hypemetabolic activity with the lungs bilaterally.
3. Improved right-sided loculated pleural fluid, trace left sided pleural fluid and areas of sub segmental atelectasis as described above. Right middle lobe wedge resection was performed, and there are no foci of FDG activity at that site.
4. No additional sites of distant metastases, the bony structures appear intact.
5. Routine follow-up as clinically indicated.
So I dont know all that means exactly but I would pretty much say I just met Mr. NED...

yay for you!!
Beth,
I'm so glad you were persistent- wow- hard to believe they're such sticklers on "their policy"- pretty ridiculous, I think. Anyhow, I'm so glad you got the report! (suggestion for next time: bypass the Dr's office and go straight to the records room at the hospital or wherever you actually had the scan done- they won't give you any trouble at all- that's what I've done the past couple of times).
Yes, it sounds to me like you've met Mr. NED!!! Sooo glad for you!!
God bless,

I'm not a doctor...but that certainly sounds very promising. I did not read anything negative in there. Hoping your oncologist confirms when you talk.
Way to go...Craig
I think you and NED just made friends. Here`s to you having a long and healthy relationship with NED.

Great
Sounds to me like that is one great report. I can't imagine that person being so rude to you. She has no clue what it feels like to wait for a report like that and if she did, she would have been more sympathetic. I'm glad you stuck to your grounds. I would talk to your oncologist when you go see them and let them know you would like the results when they come back. You are right, they are your records.
Congratulations!

Hi Beth,
That sounds like wonderful NED news!!! Good for you for knowing your rights and getting your scan when you wanted it! It is yours.

I cant thank you all enough
I dont know what I would have done without this board and all you wonderful people. You have been there for me in my darkest hours and now in my hours of shine, I feel like we are all family here even if we havent ever really meet. I continue to keep all of you in my prayers even the ones that have been healed. I also pray for those who dont even know about this monster, I wish I could afford to put a billboard sign up to have everyone get screened. I just heard on the news the the CEO of Atena is working with the President on the new health care reform. I would be happy to see them lower the testing age to 40, that would be such a big start. Anyway thats my soapbox.....Thanks to all of you for everything you have done for me, whether you new it or not.
THank you from the bottom of my heart and soul
