I have been amazed already at the positive attitudes from people that has shown a lot of courage and strength.
I am anxious to get stated with a local support group as well as the encouragement and support Iwill continue to get here.
I expect some bumps in the road ahead, but Ihave to use my strength , courage and Faith to get me through it all.

Just want to welcome youbfbear said:Hi Ms Nellie!
Welcome to the club no one wants to belong to! But now that you're here, you'll see it's the best place ever. And BTW, once you get a BC diagnosis, you IMMEDIATELY become a survivor...no waiting period! So there you go, consider yourself A SURVIVOR right now.
I struggle with serious clinical depression. Although at the moment (this minute, this day) it's OK, last week I was researching ECT, since I have not had much luck with many of the usual meds (I've been on different onces since 1989).
So, all I can say is hang in there. And like one other member wrote, there are times when I actually feel better about life because of the cancer -- it gives me something more tangible to fight against, I guess.
And, as others have written, you have to start taking one day --sometimes one hour -- at a time.
With hope,
Debi

I just wanted to welcome to you to the group, I'm new here (was dx'd 2 weeks ago) I still haven't had surgury yet but probably will next week (waiting on insurance approval as all I have right now is Medi-cal).
I'm glad to hear your feeling better and that you've been pro-active in finding support groups here, as well as in your area. I think your doing the right thing.
Good luck you and please come here often, while I still haven't gotten as far a you have already, there are many people here who can support you and help answer the questions that come up.
Keep doing what your doing and everything will be okay
God Bless

It looks to me like I completely missed welcoming you Nellie. Sheesh, sorry about that!
Welcome!! LOL!
Big hugs,

You have a beautiful dog. I am very afraid of dogs and avoid them at any cost. I have two Goffin Cuckatoos name Silk and Satin.
I look forward to saying hi in the chat room again. Some time it feels strange waiting to respond to something.
Today has been a day of rest, except I went to my piano class. I find I just get tired quickly. I can't imagine how things will be during chemo treatments. Since I don't have any information yet I tell myself to take the time to educate myself as much as possible.
Today will be a good day.

I am very glad that I found this place. The timing has been great also. I know that I am not alone.
My biggest fear is not the breast cancer and what comes with it...its being alone. But coming here let me know that I am not alone and can be happy being here.

Set a point beyond it all....
And plan something special to do for yourself then. I went to a spa for 3 days...and planning it during my treatment (I reacted to EVERYTHING...lol!) really took my mind off the present.
The other thing is to be VERY good to yourself. Treat your body like a warm comfortable old friend. It's part of your team, and needs to be treated well...keep hydrated, find something to laugh about everyday...yeah, it's tough...but I got thru both breast AND rectal cancer (this cancer I was given 6 months to live....) treatments by doing this.
We are here for you, dearheart...you have a family of 'been there/done that'...
