Even my two boys Yongy and Anubis aren't supporting me because they don't dare offend the almighty Food Goddess. I assumed that Eefy would side with her mommy - the girls at our house always stick together - but this really hurts!

Okay Aortus, I'm going to come in on your side a little. Furniture is a yes. It probably wouldn't matter if it was new or old stuff you had, Moopy wants to get rid of the reminder and yes, it's a good excuse. About the best there ever was. So, bit the bullet and go for it. As for the jewelry. Maybe it is because I am not a jewelry girl. I wear my same little $22. silver wedding ring and I wouldn't change it. I have jewelry, I just never wear it. But having said that, what all the other ladies say is so true. If a new diamond something brigthens her day, get her something. Diamonds are used for wedding rings because they are the hardest substance. In other words, they endure. And they took incredible pressure to make that lump of coal into a diamond and then amazing skill to bring out it's beauty. Sounds like the cancer journey. Not that Moopy was a piece of coal. But she has undergone tremendous pressure during her journey, and she had you to help her see her inner beauty and that is reflected in her smile and everything about her. Get her a diamond so she will always know what a survivor she is and how she like a diamond has been through so much to get where she is. See I'm on your side, a little. Be grateful. Think what it would be like if I hadn't been on your side.

I really appreciate that at least one member of the Sisterhood has the courage and the compassion to come down on my side of this matter.
You are absolutely right about the symbolism of the diamond, too. We are all, fundamentally, a bunch of molecules and stuff that has been formed - by God, in my opinion, although I realize and respect the fact that mileage varies on this one - into something wonderful. And I know that my little Moopster is as wonderful as wonderful gets! You might ask her what she got for Valentine's Day this year...0 -

Way cool! Hadn't thought about diamonds that way. So, thanks!
My original diamond engagement ring includes one very small, but almost perfect, diamond. My husband of now 29 years bought it with an income tax return. The only reason I no longer wear it is simply because it doesn't fit anymore.
However, in recent years - I've collected lots of FAUX diamond jewelry pieces! Love them! So cheap, doesn't matter if I lose something, and worry-free!
Kind regards, Susan0 -

Now we must know about this Valentine's day gift. I would like to update my diamond engagement ring as well. While I absolutely love and adore my eternity band, I've always wanted a nice, princess cut diamond that sits high on my hand. Man, I wish my husband visited this site....0 -

It took me a while, but I finally located a "journey" pendant that would send the precise message I wanted to send my beloved Moopy this past Valentine's day.
A sequence of diamonds growing ever bigger and bolder; each beautiful in its own right but far more so when viewed as an ensemble. I informed Moopy that we were at the point where the chain connects with the pendant, and that there will be nothing but brighter and better things for the two of us in the years upon years to come.

You have exquisite taste. Of course, this is a given because - you chose Moopy for your wife!
However, I'm really impressed by your exquisite taste in jewelry. The journey pendant, done in a heart design, is breathtakingly beautiful. And, quite unique. How appropriate, all the way around. And the symbolism as you've described... sigh... I'm done, have no other words... I just need to sit here, gaze upon it, alongside your two smiling faces, and take it all in... with wonderment and awe... sigh, again...

That was
Joe/Aortus,
That was absolutely exquisite. I consider my hubby to be the best guy in the whole world. He always does and says the right thing. He pitches in at home, buys me great presents, gives cards for no reason, an all around wonderful, wonderful man. I always thought that there was no one else on earth like him, but I think you might be long, lost twins because you rank right up there with him. Seriously, you are very special as is Moopy. Couldn't be a nicer couple, well expect for Den and me.
You are totally off the diamond hook. You done good. But there is still furniture.

I agree Joe. I thought my husband was wonderful but you rate at the top of the list too. Moopy is lucky to have you and you're lucky to have her. You guys make a great couple. I think the Valentine's Day gift made up for the diamond but there still is the matter of a new living room set. LOL. Just get rid of the reminder. I had to get rid of my new comforter set in my bedroom because it reminded me of how sick I was going through 8 rounds of CAF. Hugs, Lili
PS: Thanks for putting up with the bantering. LOL0 -

Attention MOOPY: The diamond journey heart pendant COUNTS (well, maybe just for THIS year). So, Joe - you're off the hook (for now) regarding a new piece of diamond jewelry. And, you get an A+ for that purchase.
Attention JOE: Moopy needs...
New SHOES
New FURNITURE
New APPLIANCES (what happened to the subject of appliances? I, for one, have NOT forgotten!)
Class adjourned.

I don't even remember what my hubby gave me for VD last year or this year. But he sure reminds me what I gave him, it was a blob of chocolate by the time he got it, I left it in the car too long....it used to be an I (heart) U. But he did say it still tasted good!
