Willing to share my experiences with other. Diagnosed in Jan.2009 and have been in remission for a few months. Severe peripheral neuropathy brought on by one of the medications utilized during a clinical trial at MD Anderson. Through the grace of God, some great medical staff and a loving family...I survived. Just another day in paradise.0 -
Davis AMLlivinatmoms said:Hi, I am also 38 and just got diagnosed on July 7th, 2009 with AML - I am at UCDavis just finished my infusion, I am waiting for my blood counts to drop and start getting better to go home, I am a mother of 4 children and have a great support group from my family and friends but they don't know how it effects me because they don't have it. I was perfectly healthy not having even as much as a cold for the last 5 years and now this WOW! To tell you the truth I am still in shock, it's like all surreal - I just found out that the FISH test wasnt great and am awaiting the fourth test to determine the exact problem with it. My email is livinatmoms@yahoo.com is anyone wants to chat about AML or suggest any confident advise as to how to remain calm during and after this treatment.
My daughter age 48 just completed first induction. No Remission. She lives in Davis and could use support. Any chance you could contact her?
