I haven't had the treatment you speak of; actually I don't even know what it is. But I wanted to say I will pray someone will answer you that can answer your questions.
God Bless,
Barbara (bstrange)
I also have not heard of this. Could you let us know what it is exactly? Cindy0 -

I don't know what BEP is. What is dysgerminoma? Need more information.
Hello Saundra,
Dysgerminoma is the rare type of Ovarian Cancer - it is a germ cell tumor. Even though it is Ovarian (it starts from an egg cell hence the name germ cell) it is treated very differently. You get the BEP treatment - also known as Bleomycin, Etoposide and Cisplatin. I figure there has to be more people out there like me (I am 32) who have had this but so far I have had no luck.0 -

You will find several posts by going to the upper right hand side of this site and type in germ cell or dysgerminoma and click on the "go" button. Try this for help. Hugs, Saundra0 -
Germ Cell
Hi - my daughter is 14 years old and was diagnosed with this cancer the week before her 11th birthday. She is strong and healthy and I am here if you want to talk.0 -
BEP
I was diagnosed last Sept after months of tests with Ovarian cancer . I was Stage 1B ..Dysgerminoma.. and recieved Cisplatin,Etopside and Bleomycin. I had 3 rounds ..my last day of chemo was New Years Day ...i truly didnt think i was going to make it ..but i did. I had to go thru chemo because of the cancer rupturing when my hysterectomy was done . I lost all of my hair and most of my eyelashes and eyebrows. I now have toxic neuropathy ..extreme fatigue ..acid reflux ..more like a feeling i have a cotton ball stuck in my throat .I recently had my body scan done and im cancer free. Its been a long hard 7 months that has forever changed me. Im looking forward to returning to a somewhat "normal" life .. ..0 -

It was initially thought that I had that type of cancer. Psstt...I ended up with something rarer. Though the treatment was similiar...just etoposide and cisplatin. Just that combo was butt kicking..exhausting..but still here. The more I read and see...all chemos kick butt...just in different manners.
I definitely went bald...hair is still growing in...I am slowly starting to outgrow the mutant look.
Like suggested, I would comb the the old files. This place is a treasure trove of information. The group has and has had some ladies who knew/know a lot of things. Some here can research like no tomorrow.
As rare as mine is...this group takes away the alone feeling.0
