black stools
I pray he mentions this to his doc, or you do. This is what they always tell us to look for which indicates blood. My argument has always been that black is an indicator of a LOT of blood, but a smaller amount results in more like dark chocolate stool, which nobody ever asked, but was true for me! Much of the chemo we receive is known to have the possibility of causing bleeding in the stomach as well as the intestinal tract.

I don't know what to tell you
From what you say about the spread of the cancer, he is stage IV. I guess it is his decision about continuing chemo or not. Can you talk to him about how he feels? Will you be with him at the doctor's appointment? Perhaps with both of you there with the doctor you can help to understand what the options are.
I wish you the best.

I think he is bleeding somewhere, he has been having bad pains in his stomach area couldn't sleep again I wish i could make the pain go away pain meds do not help. he may need stronger meds like dalauded or morphine. today we go to the doctors we will see what he says.Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers we need them. And he is stage 4 terminal to much cancer all over his only option is chemo. Had his blood drawn yesterday he has a standing order every month for blood work hopefully the dr has the results he may be anemic and we need to no the cea level. He does get chemo every week which he hates sometimes he dosen't go just lately because of the holidays.I know it is not good to skip treatments. He Is tired of it all, but he is young 53 yrs had his birthday saturday.well i got to get to work, thanks again will let you know the results from dr visit.

Michelle, I am so sorry for
Michelle, I am so sorry for what you and your hunny are going through! I often think that it's much harder on those who love us than it is on us. We are ultimately the ones dealing with the beast but we have a sense of control as to whether we want to continue our treatment or not. Our loved ones have no control over what's happenening and it's got to be a scary and helpless/hopeless feeling. I know I didn't want to share everything that was happening with my doctor and my husband was feeling very helpless. During one of our dr. appointments he made sure to leave behind the notebook that he'd been carrying. During his trip back into the office he took the doctor aside and told him everything that'd been happening to me. I wasn't pleased that he'd done this, but ultimately it was for my benefit and I was soon getting the pain relief that I needed. You might consider leaving something behind in the office. Not that I would condone sneaking around, but I know what a help it was to me. My husband made sure I was in the car before he "remembered" the notebook and went back to talk to the doctor, making sure I didn't interfere with his conversation. It was actually beneficial to both of us.
Keep hanging in there!

We are at the dr office I fill out the form that asks the questions about anything new i wrote severe stomach pain and black stools he got upset but i said o well. Our dr said to my husband you are still anemic with all this pain you are in and the black stools you are bleeding somewhere and we need to find out where. My husband is getting teary eyed now he's not saying anything, so the dr continues and he says, well you can go in tonight or tomorrow morning its up to you, my husband is quite looking scared so i said hun do you want to be in pain at home tonight or do you want the pain to stop he's looking at me again tears coming he said i can't stand this pain, I said then you are going in tonight, he stays quite stands up and walks around a little now the dr is asking him what he wants to do and my husband said, I'm going to have to i guess. so the dr seemed releaved that he accepted. So now the dr explains the different drs that will be coming . pain dr , Gi dr, and Diabetic dr , Surgen and himself. Now my husband really is not liking all these dr that he doesn't know. any way my husband again got scared he doesn't want to be operated on but the dr said just in case we just don't know whats happening in there. so he's in the hospital as of yesterday evening
they are preping him this morning for a cat scan . the pain is better thank god thay gave him morphine but that did nothing for the pain so the dr is giving him daluaded 2 to 4 milligrams every 2 to 4 hrs to get the pain in controll. I am at work my husband will call if he has any info or i will call him. I miss him already it was hard to sleep with out him next to me I hope it is something simple to fix but on the other hand is could be very bad to . I wish i could be at the hospital all day but I have to work darn...will keep you posted

I am so sorry you and Angel are having such a hard time with this! I am glad to hear he is in the hospital, getting his pain under control, however! I am sure he is no longer scared, with the medication taking care of the pain and i am sure some of the anxiety! It's hard to maintain any semblance of normalcy when you are in extreme pain. I pray God leads his doctors in finding what is going on and in healing him. Be strong, Michelle!

Oh Michelle... the stress of this can not be good for you or him!! I sure hope the CAT scan reveals what the problem is and the doctors can then proceed with getting it fixed. Once it's all fixed and he is out of pain, you can thwap him (gently) and tell him that we should have gone to the doctor/hospital sooner because there's no reason he should have to go through this kind of pain!!
Yes it is scary... and the more he's in pain, the more scared he gets... so once they get this fixed so there is no more pain, then things will be so much better and calmer!
I just wish you could somehow take the time off work to be at the hospital with him at this time.. it would do you both good.
