Wow Ron,
I am so sorry to hear about this. Is it possible for you to get on dialysis via the ER? I hope that you come up with a solution to get in to a doctor ASAP. I wish you the best in this new hurdle. I am amazed that they did not catch this sooner! Thank you for reminding us to pay attention to all of our health care issues, not just our CEA, etc.
Best of luck to you,
Sincerely,
Susan H.0 -
Oh Ron...I am so sorry..that is how my Peter lost his battle...renal failure from a blood clot brought on by a growth hormone (arasesp) for low blood counts...ANYWAY...I pray that you will be a recipient of a kidney for transplant!!!..life just keeps flinging crap eh???...just keep ducking!!!0

Dear Ron,
I am so very sorry to hear this. I certainly hope you can get an earlier appointment with the specialist and a more positive solution than appears likely to you right now. You have served as such a strong source of support and inspiration to many on this board, including me. Sending love, prayers and best wishes to you now. Tara0 -
Hi ron,ron50 said:Thanks Stacie and everyone that has posted. I appreciate your support and friendship.
Even if I got into a specialist tomorrow ,they probably couldn't save my kidneys, they have misdiagnosed or ignored my symptoms for nearly two years. Sound familiar?
A word of warning though eight of my last nine scopes I had fleet prep where I would drink a small glass of prep then nine glasses of water instead of making up several litres of prep and drinking that. Last scope they would not supply the fleet because it had been implicated with causing severe kidney damage. I don't drink or smoke so there is a good chance that the fleet was my downfall.
As i said such is life . I'm in a fair bit of pain from kidneys and a burning neuropathy in hands ,feet and other less pleasant places. I am finding it hard to work if not impoossible but the rent still has to be paid so I keep trying. I guess I'll live till I die. All the best to you all Ron.
you always remain in a special place in my heart since you were the first person to respond to my first post back in '01!
Being a "long-timer" your post gave me pause since I, too, used the Fleet prep for all my scopes.
Do you really think it was the Fleet and not the chemo that gave you the kidney damage? It's documented that chemo can cause permanent kidney (and/or heart) damage and since I didn't do any chemo I always have a sense of relief from that. But now you throw a curve ball on me! :-)
Got me thinking.....
peace and prayers,

Damn Ron what a blow you received, but I know that you will not give up..Get another specialist and get in there asap. 3 mos is riduculous and don't accept that for an answer! God Bless and this is meant with the most positive intention, don't you dare give up hope and write yourself off based on a "prognosis" that appears to be. Get your butt to another doctor.
Hugs
